Ambiance lovely and quiet though not from lack of diners. Waiters extremely attentive and discreet. Food excellent. Highly recommend the shumai and beef.

Some of the best Chinese food I have had in years and with such an elevated overall experience. The interior is beautifully decorated. The noise level is low enough for good conversation. The place settings are all very high quality. But it’s the food that is the standout. The meat on the ribs practically fell off the bone. The shaking beef cooked perfectly and the pork stir fry was delicious The drinks were also very good. However they are very expensive for the Upper West Side. In fact in general this place is expensive, which would make this more of a once in a while restaurant rather than a regular. But I know every time I go I will be looking forward to it!

We always get the mandarin salad which is delicious ! This time, we tried a dessert-mango pudding with saga Pomelo. Amazing! Not overly sweet, fresh and interesting. Great food and elegant atmosphere. New favorite for sure!

You may publish my review, but please do not use my name. We had concord chicken, shaking beef, and Chinese eggplant. The first two dishes seem to have no vegetables in them and the third the eggplant was better than deep-fried, good night, Chase the eggplant. I pre-ordered half of the Peking Duk for $58. I specifically asked if they made it the traditional way where the skin is serve separately from the meat and all the fat is scraped off the inside of the skin. They said it was made the traditional way, but when we received it, they serve the slices of meat with the fat and the skin still on them when I mentioned that I had asked about it. The maître d’ said he remembered via text and he take it right back into the kitchen and fix it. He took it back, but when he returned it to us , he had simply taken the fatty skin off of me and Service separately we can get it correctly made from Ollies to go for $28. If a restaurant specifically asks you if you would like to have a special dish they should know how to make it. it was very nice to us. They served us some sparkling wine to celebrate our anniversary and the ambience is lovely but we can get a meal a Chinese meal on the upper West side as good as this for half the price.

I wanted to love this place, but ended up hating it. Mediocre food, at best. Worst Peking Duck ever! Flabby skin, steamed meat, and tasteless, which defeats the whole purpose of Peking Duck! And at $58 a half a duck, that was a crime! Also, the "half duck" served wasn't really even a half duck. Shameful. The String Beans with Preserved Vegetables were missing the preserved vegetables. And at $26 a serving, one would expect more than a small handful of string beans! Same for the Salt and Pepper Squid -- mediocre and small and expensive. Totally overpriced in general. Poorly trained waitstaff. This place is a hard "NOPE!" Too bad, because the UWS could use a good Chinese restaurant and because this place replaced a truly good French restaurant, La Mirabelle.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We take every single word you expressed, serious. We follow a 24 hour process with each of our Peking Duck, from seasoning inside, separating skin and meat before two hot bathing process before dry aging in a dedicated dry fridge and roasted for 1.5 hours in a dedicated oven for the Peking Duck on day of for service. We would love to understand what you meant by poorly trained waitstaff in details so we can correct and better train them if they did not meet your expectation at any point of service. We always hold a pre-shift covering service daily and demand the upmost standards from each and every one of our hard working staff members. We are always in state of mind looking for improvement and never settle for what it is. Sincerely, Aves Family

pleasant service and only a short walk away, what could be better. Nicely done interior; fantastic Peking Duck, and some of the best Crystal Shrimp Dumplings I've ever had. Our previous experience there when things were just getting started was a little rocky, however things are now smooth sailing indeed!
