   The restaurant food was definitely good, quality and taste, no issues with that. But, at the same time it felt drastically overpriced. $8 corn on the cob? These tator tot things were practically $10? Really? The evening we went (on a Tuesday) there were no other people in the place. A couple came and after 10 minutes left. We were the only ones dining and with the prices I can see why. Apparently Happy Hour is packed. $14 mixed drinks in tiny glasses didn't win me over either. But if you don't mind blowing money, the main courses were excellent.

   This was my first visit to Au Cochon. My husband had been there a few times and recommended it as a great place for my friend & I to meet in Birmingham. We both found it very pleasant. We hadn't seen each other in a long time and the waiter was very accommodating in giving us space & time to catch up a little. He recommended a very tasty & appropriate started for us to share with our glass of wine during this time. Our meals were delicious and plentiful. I highly recommend this restaurant.

   The food is terrific. Salmon and Steak Fritte were our selections for main course. Both delicious. The French Onion soup is a must order....order individual...no one will share. We had the best waiter...spot on with service. We dined on a Sunday evening...FYI.

   Delicious food! Split the wedge salad and the Eggs Benedict with a friend. It was so yummy! Definitely will be going back!

   Nice setting with dinner on outdoor terrace. Steak frites was very tender and flavorful. Martini was tasty but served in too small a coupe glass. Would definitely return.

    We had the (hopefully) rare circumstance of excellent food combined with under-performing service. The fromage blanc was a pleasant surprise and overall superb. The trout and collard greens was excellent. Unfortunately, my wife ordered the 36 hour short-rib, at about 7:45 pm on a Saturday. Sometime thereafter (15 minutes?) our waiter returned to inform that the restaurant was "out" of the item. This is disconcerting...the service was not even remotely full on a Saturday evening. To be out of what I presume to be a signature item mid-service on a Saturday seems ominous for the long-term prospects of the restaurant. Aside aside, the dish was ordered cooked "medium". A replacement of steak frites was ordered. No temperature was requested, so presumably, the steak would be served "medium". Unfortunately, not so. It was served rare. So, because our wait-person was suddenly not available for at least 10 minutes, the hostess was signaled. The dish was sent be to be cooked further. The hostess returned the dish to the table about 5 minutes later with no clear additional cooking marks (grill marks, flat iron searing, etc.) and nominally more done. When our waiter reappeared, the issue with the steak frites was never acknowledged. Furthermore, the waiter never brought either of the sides that were ordered (carrots and potatoes, bread and butter pickles). Also, the by the glass wine was really really expensive.
