   The Astra restaurant is San Francisco gem. We had high tea and Easter Brunch, and the food and service were outstanding. The tea had such delicacies as Dungeness crab and caviar. We had the truffle omelet for brunch, outstanding.

   We went this morning for breakfast… food was great! I had the egg and avacado cheddar croissant … it was delicious ! Waiter was very attentive and we would definitely go back again!

   The afternoon tea experience was perfect. Everything was delicious, with a good amount of food, generous champagne portions, and an excellent tea selection.

   Overall, it was a very good experience. However, I ordered and encouraged my friend to order, the lemon ricotta pancakes. I’ve had these many times in different restaurants and they’ve always been light, fluffy and delicious. I wish I could say the same was true for this restaurant. When our order arrived, it was one giant, thick, heavy pancake and was more like a poppyseed cake …. extremely disappointed.

   The tea service experience was amazing, the special savory dishes had a great taste and the desserts were delicious and not too sweet

   The service was a little too slow for us and it was strange we weren’t offered a wine list or drink other than water until we asked for it. It was a prix fixe menu so not a ton of entree choices and I wish I could have selected a different temperature for the steak, although I understand wagyu should be served pretty rare.

   Guest as St Regis hotel for three days.. NYE dinner at Astra. Pre fix 4course dinner. $150 pp. I probably had way too high expectations since NYE. Restaurant itself is a lobby restaurant. Food was just okay. Aesthetics of entrees underwhelming (pics attached). The waiter offered water. Come to find out $12 bottle for “flat water” (my bad). Pluses- The restaurant manager/hostess “Sayre” was phenomenal. She went above and beyond.

   Hersol was an exceptional server. He genuinely cared about our experience and provided bespoke service. Not to mention the food was delicious and the restaurant has a great atmosphere.

    From arrival to the time we left the experience was EXACTLY what I had hoped for. We were promptly seated and the service was immediately good. The waiter was extremely helpful and pleasant. We visited the art museum next door and then our car was promptly delivered to us and we were off. Uniquely good experience and we will return. Ric Overton
