   Absolute BEST staff and the food is delicious. I love the blueberry pancakes bc they put the blueberries in the batter

   If you booked on the open table app you might not get the warning that the real Astor Court is under renovations. I showed up and had my plans ruined with small room where they set up some tables. But the food and service were excellent and I do want to go back to experience the renovated Astor room.

   Breakfast was server in a ball room instead of the real Astor Court. Overpriced and disappointing.

   Afternoon tea was wonderful. It is a lovely room. Service was great and attentive. Would just prefer more sandwiches and less desserts. I wish also that they'd offer afternoon tea year round like they used to.

   Meh. The service was almost non-existent (we had pre-paid for the reservation b/c we were told the only way to book is on opentable which requires prepayment and autograt). When the server knows they already have a 20% grat built in (in this case $92), they should STILL feign at lease a minimal level of service. The plain scones were fine, most likely baked earlier that day. The cranberry orange scones were 1-2 days old at best and should never have been allowed to leave the kitchen. The butter was fine and the lemon curd was good. The tea sandwiches were very obviously made first thing in the morning and were hard and dry when they were served, again, if anyone cared these never would have left the kitchen. The pastries were... sort of okay. Definitely wouldn't say good, and wouldn't even say fine. They were just sort of okay. For $115/person before tax and tip this should have been WAY better.

   We had a late reservation amd got right in. The St. Regis is beautifully decorated, and the table was comfortable. We all agreed the bread was unusually amazing—malty and unique although the butter was frozen. We did the Christmas tasting menu. The first two courses were amazing (amuse-bouche and lobster risotto). The bone-in ribeye entree was more average and arrived about one temp more well done than the three of us that ordered it had requested. It was a little tough and just basically a steak. Dessert was beautiful visually and each bite made you keep going long after you should. Lovely plates of Christmas cookies dropped down after dessert really sent us—we were too full to eat them. Service was lovely. I give it 4 stars on the basis of value. The main was not quite unique or special enough for a $240pp meal—but also we got charged for adult fee for a child which was supposed to be half (we didn’t want to make a fuss so we paid). Generally a fun and visually beautiful experience to end our Christmas Day.

    The Astor Court on Christmas Day was the perfect place for an elegant family dinner. The three course special menu offered something for everyone and the food was delicious.
