   This was my 3rd time coming to Amar, I mentioned on the reservation that me and my girlfriend were celebrating our 1 year anniversary there. The hostess, didn’t mention anything and our server didn’t either. Even after witnessing us open gifts, celebrating etc.. All 3 times i’ve been to Amar the food has been amazing but the service has been extremely lackluster. Our server Erving, with no tables on this sunday evening took 10 mins to grab our drink/app order while he hung out at the bar top talking/joking with his co-workers, I had to call him over to get our drinks. After we got our apps and drinks we waited again for another 10 mins. This time having to place our order with one of the expo girls. After the expo girl notifies Erving, we then speak to him on the delay and he then lets us know that “he is about to clock out, & we were going to have a new server” who he then introduced. He was very unprofessional and nonchalantly trying to avoid having to take care of us when he is the one who accepted the table from the host. Neither gave us their names until we asked. The new server was a bit better but still didn’t give that much better of service. This again was on a slow sunday night while there was not many tables in the restaurant. The expo girls were very on top of their service and really made up for the bad service of the actual servers, this has been the case all 3 visits to amar. This last visit wasn’t even the worst experience i’ve had with them but the only reason we have came back is because the food is great. The servers really need to get better trained and be more professional. Doesn’t seem like they have any direction or guidance as again all 3 servers i’ve had have given poor service. Amar could be a amazing dining experience, the drinks were good, food is good and the ambiance is great as well but the consistent bad service from the servers devalues my attraction to wanting to come here often.

   Appetizer was received after entree. In fact people who arrived after us had their entrees before this appetizer was served. One entree was received nearly 10 minutes after all other entrees and was not warm. Food had significant drop in quality and taste from last dining experience. Steep drop off in dining experience overall. Will be a while before I try this place again.

   Great food! The drinks were delicious and the food was great. For drinks- The banana old fashion was slightly sweet and so sophisticated 10/10!!! I had the spinach empanadas 8/10-they were slightly salty. The Red sniper was perfectly fried and came with sticky rice and delicious sauces 10/10. The elotes were tasty just slightly charred 8/10. We also tried the shrimp cocktail which had a delicate balance of spice and sweetness 9/10, fish tacos were flavorful (the sauce really made the dish) 7/10 And lastly…. The tres leches cake was moist and so flavorful with notes of coconut 10/10. Overall a phenomenal meal with great service and a cute restaurant. A lot of birthdays last night and they give you dessert with a glass of champagne.

   The food, ambiance and atmosphere were great. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. Omly issue was with one dish that was brought to my son 15 minutes after we were done eating.

   Had an amazing meal with great food and top-notch service. Ordered the aguachiles, empanadas, and elote—each dish was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The aguachiles had just the right balance of spice and acidity, the empanadas were crispy and delicious, and the elote was packed with bold, savory flavors. Drinks were just as impressive—the lychee martinis were smooth and refreshing, while the margaritas were well-balanced and strong. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a great meal and excellent service!

    The service was poor. It took 30 min to get water and over an hour to get all the drinks ordered. Between the first entree served and the last entree served it took 45 to an hour. Three of us were finished eating before the last person was even served. They made 2 items twice (one drink and one entree) but completely forgot another’s food. Oh and we were charged 2x for one item… Waiter was not good and it seems the kitchen was unorganized. Food great. Good value. Service was so bad it was a train wreck we will not forget. So at least we have stories.
