Guests must be 21 years or older. Altipiano is a winery only, perched high above San Pasqual Valley’s San Diego Zoo Safari Park in Escondido’s Highland Valley Wine Country, Altipiano is family owned and operated. This award winning artesian boutique vineyard and winery is surrounded by Denise and Peter’s Tuscan Villa complete with a Tasting Room, Winemaker’s Library, Barrel Room and a Winery production facility. Shaded, welcoming patios, umbrella-covered tables, fountains, firepits and terraced gardens line the handsome Tuscan-inspired property that invites guests to sit, sip and take in the majestic and compelling landscape. Denise released her first wines in 2012. Her focus as a winemaker is on Italian varietals, including the Estate Sangiovese (Brunello Clone), Super Tuscan, and Barbera. Other varietals produced are Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, Estate Petite Sirah, Aglianico, Merlot, Nero D’Avola, Primitivo, Syrah.

Great place to spend an afternoon. Beautiful patio setting and fun place to enjoy a few glasses of wine. Panaoramic views when you walk to the back. We had live music and really enjoyed our Mother's Day out there!

Altipiano Vineyard gives such a beautiful ambiance. The wine is enjoyable and the service to customers makes you feel like a close friend. This was my 2nd time visiting and I had to become a member. It is very tranquil, small, intimate, but enjoyable. What a great place to delight in wine tasting.
