   I always have a great time at Alici! I went for the oyster happy hour and thoroughly enjoyed it per usual. I’ll definitely be back.

   Our group had been excited to try the new menu. We were very disappointed to find that the only vegetarian option on the menu was French fries. After discussion with the waiter, he said chef had agreed he could make a salad with the anchovies on the side so it would also be vegetarian. After further discussion, he offered to leave the meat out of the curry. It had never entered our consideration that a fine dining restaurant in midtown would not have a true vegetarian option, or that requests to modify for this would take multiple rounds. Our waiter was admittedly new, but staffing appeared to be light for the evening. He and his colleague seemed to have their hands very full, as did the bartender. As a new hire, he was not well versed in the wines or the dishes. Our first wine selection ended up being an unconventional wine, and a heads up about that would have been helpful. He did graciously remove the wine charge and apologize at the end of the evening for the hiccups from the limited menu selection and the wait times. The other dishes across our party ranged from fair to outstanding. Overall, a mixed result for our group, but we are not planning to return until the menu is further refined.

   Oyster selection is top notch even when a few are unavailable. The wahoo was perfect. Fun place. Too bad the parking lot sucks so bad.

   Ambiance was amazing! Love the decor and open air feel with the patio. The food and drinks were fantastic but definitely over priced for what you get. $18 for 3 deviled eggs is a bit much. The oysters were delicious but also more expensive than most oysters I’ve had. I will definitely be back for the drinks and vibes though for sure!

   We will not be going back. Manager is pathetic and has no idea what customer service is. FaceTime is never appropriate at the bar. I’m not a Karen but if you want to have a conversation on your phone at a bar, use your earbud/airbud so customers looking to relax and enjoy the dining experience don’t have to listen to your conversation. It’s common curtesy. So sad, I was using my Open Table reward and looking forward to a nice evening.
