   The hostess and server, Derek, were wonderful! We loved all the recommendations and they catered to my onion and garlic allergy. The salmon sushi and shrimp dish were my favorite. My husband loved the wagyu gyoza and bourbon soy sauce. We both loved the cheesecake.

   Our dinner experience was amazing, first some of our was late but they sat us anyway and our waitress was Alexa she was outstanding.

   The food is always delicious and the service is excellent. The vibe with the music makes dining an absolute joy. The best ribeye I’ve had in the city. 5 stars

   Zachary was attentive to my girlfriend’s food allergies and made sure she was safe. She had plenty of options. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was friendly and upbeat. We had the pleasure of dining next to the owner and his family. They were engaging and genuinely friendly. Overall experience was great and we can’t wait to go back!

   Our omakase experience at Aker was nothing short of extraordinary. From the very first bite, it was clear that every dish was crafted with incredible passion and precision. The sushi was unbelievably fresh — melt-in-your-mouth quality — and each piece was a testament to the chefs’ dedication to quality ingredients and refined technique. What truly set Aker apart, though, was the creativity behind the fusion dishes. Each course brought surprising, thoughtful flavor combinations that somehow felt both innovative and perfectly balanced. The chefs themselves came to our table to present each dish, offering insights into their inspiration and patiently answering all our questions. Their genuine enthusiasm made the entire evening feel deeply personal. We were also touched by the fun and thoughtful dessert surprise they prepared for my husband’s birthday — a beautiful and delicious ending to an already unforgettable meal. Aker delivered a truly memorable experience. In highly recommend omakase for a special occasion! We will definitely be back the next time we’re in town.

   Great experience. Food super fantastic. Jake at the bar helped us with sake and menu recommendations. Food was so good and non sushi lover wants to go back!! Alter is the best

   We had another fantastic experience at Aker. Our server was extremely knowledgeable on the freshest fish and specials! One of our favorite shared dishes is the Waygu Gyoza… much have!

    Nestled in a downtown office building, Aker is a gem amongst the various architectural wonders. Spacious, contemporary decor, beautifully designed for elegance with soft lighting snd colors. The service was spot on. Needed assistance in ordering from the menu of generous Japanese inspired dishes from oysters to shishito peppers to tuna rolls. Cocktails were plentiful. Three of us shared 6 dishes. And one dessert of warm chocolate mousse cake. I’d return often to taste all the beautifully presented dishes. A winner for Exchange Place!
