I had the pleasure of dining at Akame Nigiri and Sake in Lexington, MA, and I can confidently say it’s one of the best omakase experiences I’ve ever had. What makes this place truly remarkable is that it’s a single-owned, single-run restaurant with no employees—just one master chef pouring their heart and soul into every dish. The dedication and hard work are evident in every bite, and it’s nothing short of impressive. The 15-course omakase offering, priced at $180 per guest, was an absolute delight. Each course was a masterpiece, showcasing the freshest Japanese fish and shellfish, alongside luxurious additions like foie gras, Hokkaido uni, A5 wagyu, and caviar. The dessert was the perfect sweet finish to an incredible meal. Every dish was beautifully presented and perfectly cooked, reflecting the skill of a true master chef. The chef was not only talented but also incredibly kind and wonderful, making the experience even more memorable. From start to finish, all courses were fantastic, and I can’t recommend Akame enough. If you’re looking for an authentic, high-quality omakase experience, this is the place to go. 10/10—one of the best I’ve ever had!

A rare opportunity to have a front seat experience with a chef who truly loves what he does and runs this place as a one man show. Truly a unique (and delicious) experience! Very high quality food in a simple/non pretentious environment

Chef has really made amazing strides. This was good the first time we visited almost two years ago, but since then this restaraunt has been elevated to a new top tier place. It’s quaint, small, but delicious.

It was literally a small hole in the wall. But don’t let that fool you. We had the place to ourselves because the other people cancelled…it was like having a private chef for the night. The sushi was amazingly delicious. We actually made future reservations during our time there. We can’t wait to go back!!

We love Omakase and found this place in Lexington without having to go into Boston. It was a wonderful experience. Seats 6 people, very intimate and make friends or it can be awkward. Luckily met friends in common at the restaurant. We enjoyed every bite! Fish was fresh. Chef Mike was very interactive. SAKE pairing is a must. Highly recommend!

This was my second time at this omakase and it was just as amazing as the first! Loved introducing my friends to the varieties of toppings/fish served and watching them fall in love with it just as I did. Because there was a cancellation, we ended up having the place to ourselves. The chef was very knowledgeable and easy to chat with. He made this an amazing experience. Will definitely be back again! Thank you very much!!

Incredible incredible incredible! Chef Monaco was a great host, entertainer, and obviously, a great chef. We came in a little before seating and he welcomed us in while he prepared the fish. He was very fun to talk to and the way he walked us through each course made this a truly educational and fulfilling experience. Furthermore, the creativity on some of the courses pushed the limit of my understanding of omakase and even fine dining. The cherry on top was that when my girlfriend covered herself with her shawl, Chef Monaco turned the thermostat up, showing a true care for his diners. This place is truly a gem with extremely accessible parking (huge parking lot behind the CVS) and while I’d love to gatekeep, everyone should go and try Akem. Extremely worth it! Great food, great vibes, and a great guy behind the counter.
