AGAVA in East Ithaca, NY features a Southwestern decor, the cornerstone of which is a series of stunning murals created by Bill Benson, a local artist. It's located in the former East Ithaca Train Station, and when you visit, you'll enjoy the historic photographs of trains of bygone days as you await your meal.

AGAVA's specialties include wood-fired flatbreads and other oven-roasted offerings prepared by Chef Andre Jacquet. Seasonal cuisine is a specialty. You will also find that AGAVA is much more than just a restaurant. It also offers regular entertainment and open mic nights where you can bring your special talents to entertain other diners. And on Tuesdays, kids eat free when accompanied by an adult.

Very nice farm to table restaurant. Our server was friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. Everyone enjoyed their main course and the guacamole was excellent. I highly recommend Agava.

The farm to table food was delicious, well prepared and presented. We shared the pistachio guacamole, scallops and roast chicken breast. The quac was tasty and plentiful. The scallops were served at a perfect temperature, still soft and juicy. The chicken was the stand out dish, juicy and flavorful with crisp, well seasoned skin. Service was friendly and attentive.

On our most recent visit I found the choice of mains lacking. The tacos were OK, but not mouthwateringly awesome like I've been used to here. Drinks were good, but there was confusion about what was on tap and what wasn't. I'm happy to see Industrial Arts available. Years ago Agava introduced me to Singlecut. The spicey brownie was flavourful, but I would have appreciated it if it had arrived at the table heated.

Two out of three had a good meal, tasty and reasonably priced but one had a fish special that was smaller than his appetizer and quite expensive. He was very disappointed. It was also very noisy. We probably won't be back but I am sure some folks would love it.

We had guacamole and chips while drinking a white sangria & zing margarita, then I had a seriously delicious crab cake taco while he had fettuccine with shrimp. Our server, Mary, was very good and we both agreed we'd be back!
