   What a fabulous experience. Estelle our waitress was excellent. So lovely and friendly. I ordered a vegan afternoon tea which was delicious. My friend ordered the non-vegan afternoon tea. Both delicious. So with going to this fabulous hotel fir a delicious afternoon tea.

   Great ambiance and decorations, amazing food. Surprisingly very filling! I had the Sencha Kyoto Cherry Tea which paired perfectly with the foods.

   I made the reservation a month in advance and specifically noted that one of our guests has a severe nut allergy. A few days before the original date, I had to reschedule. I called and spoke with someone who kindly moved our reservation to two weeks later. However, it seems the allergy information I had provided was not carried over by the person handling the rescheduling. When we arrived, I reminded our server about the nut allergy. He responded in a very dismissive and rude tone, saying, "Well, this wasn't noted on your reservation." I replied, "I did mention it when I first booked, and I’m informing you again now." Later, when the server brought the tower, he pointed out that the macaron was the only item containing nuts and had separated it. Unfortunately, one of the cookies—specifically, the matcha cookie with chocolate coating on the third tier—also contained nuts, which was not disclosed. This resulted in a medical emergency, and we had to rush to the hospital. What was meant to be a special and enjoyable experience turned into a deeply distressing one. I hope this feedback is taken seriously to ensure better handling of allergy information in the future.

   Superb service, food and beautifully decorated dining area were all very satisfying. 1.5 hours restriction was very tight, however, and I did not like to be interrupted by some to-go boxes in the middle of us eating and talking when we did not ask for them. Will consider going back if you extend the time a bit.

   found the food to be rather bland and the environment closed in and stuffy for a Spring tea. Faux foliage didn’t help! —foodie and Interior designer
