Whereas the tea choices and quality were very good, I was not impressed by the food at all. We ordered the gluten free high tea and were quite disappointed. The sandwiches had very little in them, which made them hard to appreciate esp. with the rather stale gluten free bread. The scones were unremarkable and they didn't serve lemon curd with them. And, further, the deserts were unremarkable as well. I would not recommend this.

The ambience and service were 100%. The food was eh. The sandwiches had barely any filling, and the deserts were lack luster. The scones were amazing. Nothing was offensive, just not worth the price. The tea was very good as well.

Went here for our annual family (just the ladies) Christmas tea. We have been going to high teas all over town for years and were excited to finally book a table here. As a family from Scotland, we look forward to high tea as a way to celebrate our culture and our Christmas. Although the atmosphere was lovely, the tea was disappointing. Our waitress was nice enough, but the tea selection, although quite fancy, didn't have Earl Grey tea (which is a tea staple). It took us about 1/2 hour to actually get the tea....just the tea. Then the tea trays arrive, and at $50 a person, was a disappointment. The sandwiches had literally a paper thin piece of filling (whether it was ham, salmon, cucumber or egg salad)--there was barely a distinguishable difference between them. The scones were ok, and the tea cakes were too sweet for our tastes. So I left having had a scone, the insides of the sandwiches (I don't eat white bread), a nibble of three tea cakes, and a pot of tea--all for $50 (paying the same for my daughter--so $100 plus tip). We left hungry and disappointed. Will not come back for tea.

This is an annual event at Gracie's each year; wonderful holiday ambience and very good tea.. The best in Portland.
