   It's been a long time since we've been to the Acropolis, but it made the perfect meeting spot for family members coming from different parts of the city. For elderly parents, it was ideal: Easy parking, one step up into the restaurant, a welcoming hostess--the owner herself, and best of all: it is quiet. What restaurant doesn't boast a "lively" and noisy ambiance these days? For that alone, Acropolis is a gem, so relaxing and comfortable. And I haven't even started to talk about the food! From the specials to the expansive menu, everything was fresh and delicious from crab soup which my father (very hard to please) declared wonderful, to the whole fish, ample sides of choice, and traditional Greek desserts. We all loved it!

   The best Greek restaurant in Baltimore hands-down! I have been a patron for 40 years because the food is consistently great and authentic. Grilled whole fish, kabobs, shrimp giovetsi, lamb chops, orzo dishes and more are delicious and large! Family run and it feels good to be there!

   Everyone was very happy with their meal. A carafe of delicious Cabernet was only 21 dollars. The waitress was knowledgable and efficient. Cheaper than the other nearby Greek restaurants. Will be back.

   Have never had a bad meal here. Great venue for groups too. Highly recommend.

   Last minute decision to eat out. Wanted authentic Greek so gave Acropolis a try. Our party of six ordered spanakopita, dolmathes and tzatziki as appetizers and all were delicious, going up in smoke along with the bread and olive oil. For the main dishes, orders were placed for moussaka, pastitsio, gyro, crab cakes with egg-lemon soup (agvolemono) and Greek Salads. Compliments were flowing about each dish as plates were being cleaned. I had the pastitsio and it was light and flavorful. We ate so much, we had no room for dessert. The menu was filled with mouth-watering options and if I come back to Baltimore (was visiting for the weekend), there are many I would like to try. Prices were incredibly reasonable. The bill for our party of six -- which included a carafe of Greek wine and two Greek beers -- was less than I have paid for two people at some restaurants. Service was very good, though the waitress seemed new and had to check in response to some of our questions. Definitely recommend, though, if driving, parking can be tricky as there is no dedicated parking lot. Decor is very Greek and a video screen plays a lot of scenes from Greece.

   Due to food sensitivity issues had the grilled flounder and endive. Both were excellent. Companion had the seafood pasta which he said was great.

   We've been trying out the numerous Greek restaurants in Baltimore, and this time it was Acropolis's turn. It's a classic old Greektown restaurant, and it was very quiet when we visited - which happened to be the Greek Good Friday, so that may explain it. Overall we were very happy with our food - we had stuffed grape leaves and grilled octopus as starters, and we both had lamb dishes, and it was all delicious. We also had a bottle of Greek red wine (from Crete) that was a good match for the food and very reasonably priced. I don't remember the name of the dessert, but it was like baklava in a different form - too sweet for me and dominated by honey. I think that dessert is not the strong suit of Greek cuisine. Our server was enthusiastic and friendly, if not exactly polished - in keeping with the "neighborhood restaurant" theme. Service was fast but not rushed. The decor is showing its age, but it appeared to be clean - and again, this is a neighborhood place, not a glitzy downtown restaurant like Ouzo Bay (which will probably cost you 2x the price of your tab at Acropolis. We will definitely give Acropolis another shot.

   This is a wonderful neighborhood restaurant in Greektown. Very good menu to choose from, great food, large portions, and excellent service. Family ownership does everything to ensure things go well.

   Excellent food, great prices, and friendly service. Couldn't ask for anything more. Go and try a good meal with a wonderful experience for good Greek food.
