Established in 2002 as the first Turkish Restaurant in San Francisco, A La Turca is the recipient of awards including "Best Turkish Restaurant" by local newspapers' reader polls. Nothing goes better with our freshly prepared appetizers than our home made pide bread, crispy outside and chewy inside. A La Turca dishes are made from scratch each and every day according to traditional Turkish recipes, and the portions are generous. If you are new to Turkish cuisine, you will want to try the platter, which includes lamb chop, beef shish, chicken shish, koefte, lamb/beef gyro, doener, rice and salad. Or Lahmacun (Turkish thin pizza) which locals order by the dozen. If Turkish cuisine is among your favorites, you will not want to miss the housemade doener, iskender kebab and beyti. There are great vegetarian options as well mouth-watering housemade desserts, beer and Turkish, Italian or Napa wine. Come for an authentic Turkish experience. Offsite cater is available for up to 500 ppl.

Authentic Turkish food in a not so nice neighborhood of the city. Customer service could improve but overall 4 out of 5 star is well deserved.

The food was great. The zucchini pancake with garlic yogurt was a fine way to start. The Doner—thin sliced beef and lamb had delicate flavor The lamb shish kebab was very tasty, but not tender. Rice and vegetables were excellent. With just water and one cup of tea, the bill was less than $50 for the two of us. There is a convenient parking garage next door. Check it out.

We chose the restaurant based on availability on New Year's Eve and proximity to our evening's venue. What we found was the absolute best meal we've had in a long time. Everything was perfect. The lamb was perfectly done and scrumptious. I can't wait to go back again! You will not be disappointed.

A small restaurant that has a warm friendly atmosphere and good food. We tried the two Turkish red wines offered because we had never had Turkish wine before. There was one for each enjoyed. We had two appetizers, one was recommended by the gentleman helping us and it was OK but the homemade pita and Baba Ghanoush was amazing. We split an entree which was a sampler, mixed grill and it was generous in size and quite yummy. A pleasant meal all the way round.
