   Our dinner at 583 Bistro was a most pleasant surprise. The unassuming exterior gave way to a most delicious meal with superb service. From the discounted happy hour drinks to the Hummus with Naan, freshly made salads and entrees of housemade pasta that delightef my palate with flavor and perfectly seered scallops, it was a most enjoyable evening. And Russ was the perfect host and guide through our meal! My highest compliments!

   We went to this place based upon reviews but were disappointed. For starters, it was empty on a saturday night at 7pm. Service was extremely slow, especially since nobody was there. Appetizers were not good. We had mussels which were huge and chewy and left uneaten. Pasta was supposed to be fresh and made in house. It was from a box and far from fresh. All of the food was extremely salty and waters were not filled. We will not be back and do not recommend.

   This is our first visit and our expectations were high given past reviews. If you're a wine drinker ok; for scotch on the rocks , forget it. One ounce? For $9. The mussel appetizer was an attractive plate but lacked any real taste. A light garlic butter sauce would have been great. My wife had the scallops, cooked perfectly but the salt sear ruined the dish. Her potato bake was excellent. I had the chicken marsalla which was bland and tasteless. We are visiting from Bradenton Fl and won't be back here when we're in Cleveland.

   This was horrible experience. We been to this restaurant before and never had this kind of experience. They were understaffed. We sat a good 10-15 minutes before anyone even came over to get our beverage order. We ordered our food, and it 50 minutes before we got it. No one checked as to whether everything was good or if we needed anything. Parts of our order was barely warm, not great. My husband was really upset. We were ready to leave and again waited at least another 10 minutes for someone to be around so we could request our check. Breakfast or Brunch should not take two hours! Poor service causes people not to return. Really disappointing!

   We were there on a quiet evening. Both food and service were very good. The ambience was very pleasant. My martini was quite good as well. We will be returning.

   Really nice place. Steak was medium well even though I ordered it medium rare, otherwise five stars.

   Cozy little place with fabulous food and excellent service. Russ was our waiter and he couldn’t have better. He was friendly, informative, and very attentive. I had the ravioli, and it one of the best ravioli dishes I’ve had. The sauce was terrific. I highly recommend this little gem of a restaurant.

   The hummus appetizer was pretty good, though hummus could've used a bit more salt. The pita bread was a bit thicker than normal but my husband and I found it to be delicious. I had the pork osso bucco, which unfortunately I found to be pretty bland, but my husband's bolognese was tasty. Portions were sizeable. Service was good.

    We love this restaurant, this being about our 5th visit! Some stand outs for us are the salads, all of them are prepared with very fresh greens, whatever the salad is made with, never over dressed. The Tuna appetizer is also wonderful and very reasonably priced. We’ve had most of the entrees, all were good, they seem to do the meat dishes especially well. The donut dessert is not to be missed and the wine is varied and reasonably priced. It’s a hidden gem in Bay Village.
