   Such a special afternoon tea for my husband’s 60th birthday.Window table was perfect,we will definitely come back again and recommend to our family and friends thank you.

   We had afternoon tea, and although the food was okay it certainly wasn’t good value for money. Felt a bit ripped off to be honest and won’t be going back again.

   Hugely disappointed in all honesty, afternoon “tea” consisted of 3 tiny finger sized sandwiches on stale bread each, with a sliver of filling, inconsistently sized scones and cakes that were literally glued to the plate to keep them in place. We were sat and not given a drinks menu, we were not offered any tea immediately and also our food was delivered without us being asked if we were ready and without the tea. It cost £100 for afternoon tea and a non alcoholic cocktail each. If I could’ve walked out I would’ve but they had my card details so didn’t want to be charged the £25 “no turn up” fee. Our table wasn’t cleared, others who had finished after us had their table cleared before us, we were not offered any more tea during our “afternoon tea” and we did not have an offer of coffee afterwards. So we asked for the bill, which was placed on the table, waited another 5-8 minutes for someone to walk past to ask to pay, at which point they started to clear the table and not bring the card machine! Really poor quality for £100, the male staff member serving us was nice but obviously rushed off his feet as we had to ask for everything that we wanted rather than asking if we needed anything else.

   Afternoon tea at the 20 Stories was a lovely experience. Service was top notch and they even brought out a little happy birthday cake for my friend at the end without me asking to. Staff were polite and accommodating and they ran us through all of the different items and sandwich fillings beforehand. Course 1 (savoury) and course 2 (Scones with clotted cream and jam) were the best by far! Course 3 (the cakes and sweets) were not to our taste but very well made and presented! The location, view and atmosphere is not to miss. Would definitely advise that afterwards you grab a drink and sit on the outdoor terrace! Would highly recommend!

   The afternoon tea was different than I’d previously had, too many little cakes and not enough savoury. Not worth the money.

   I was very much looking forward to my afternoon tea at 20 Stories however was left very disappointed. I let them know prior that as I am pregnant I cannot have any food that isn’t pasteurised, and the sandwiches they gave me were literally salad on bread with no meat whatsoever. There was no explanation from the waitress as to what my sandwiches were and just said “this side is for the pregnant lady” and walked away. We were told we would have tea pairings with our food, was offered some tea which came out luke-warm and we had to try for ages to get someone’s attention for a fresh pot. The afternoon tea itself is very disappointing with 3 very small finger sandwiches, 2 scones each and then a selection of very small cakes which weren’t great. The cakes also had this sugar glue on the bottom to get them to stick to the tray, however when you try and lift it off half of the cake gets stuck on there. You have one plate for sandwiches, scones and deserts and only one set of knife and fork. A big reason for booking 20 Stories above all over afternoon teas in Manchester was for the view, but we couldn’t have been sat further away from a window. The staff were friendly enough but didn’t add any value to our visit, yet we were still charged an extortionate service charge which we didn’t pay in the end, as there was no service to be charged? I wouldn’t recommend the afternoon tea here - you are paying for a special occasion in a special restaurant overlooking Manchester - and you are getting below average food and no benefit of where the restaurant is located. Very poor and wouldn’t do this again with 20 Stories - not worth the money.

   Loved the venue and ambiance . Selection of sandwiches , scones and sweet treats were ample although we found that a couple of them didn’t truly reflect the description in their flavour. This did not spoil our time and we would visit again .

   Not what I expected. One of the little patisserie completely melted on the table before we got time to eat. They left it there, melted (couple of waiters approached our table and ignored it completely) while we were eating the rest and told us we should have to eat that first because it happens all the time. I would expect either to be suggested at the beginning to eat it first or to change the menu so that customers don't have cake melting on the table while they are eating. They didn't offer to replace it nor any goodwill gesture. Music was also very loud in the restaurant area. Luckily the view made for it and the cocktails were well made. Overall the staff was friendly, they helped us move to another table with stunning view when our time allocated was due.

   The afternoon tea was lovely. Good quality food. Lovely atmosphere. The menu states that’s it is £60 for cocktail afternoon tea - when menu came out we had been charged £35 per afternoon tea and £30 per cocktail pairing. Although it’s only £5 each more the menu is quite misleading and in my opinion incorrect. We started with a female server who was terrible - had to keep asking for things. Then advised we would need to move to the bar to have our cocktails? Eh!! It’s part of the afternoon tea! Confused. Anyway after speaking to a male server her was amazing - so attentive. He made our experience lovely. Defo need to look at the way u word ur costing on ur menu and be clear. Some people may be in for a big shock!
