   Everything is first rate including the well prepared food options, the professional wait staff, the lovely room and that fantastic view through those gigantic plate glass windows onto the state park marina and the harbor and lake beyond. We have visited the Island House Hotel several times over the years and have always had only the best of dining experiences at the 1852 Grill Room.

   We loved everything about this place! The food was exceptional, and the service was outstanding. We will definitely return on our next visit to Mackinac.

   Brian was an amazing waiter that took care of us. The good was impeccable. My husband can’t stop talking about it. The moral mushrooms sealed the deal for fine dining!

   We celebrated our 45th anniversary at 1852 Grill Room. We were greeted promptly by Jeffrey, and shown to our table. The table was perfect, with a view of the harbor. There was a piano player who added to the delightful atmosphere. We opted to skip the starters as we wanted to save room for dessert! The planked fish was cooked to perfection as was the filet. The filet melted like butter in our mouths as we shared entrees to have a surf and turf experience. Our waiter Eddie suggested the peanut butter pie. It had a chocolate crumb crust, smooth and creamy peanut butter filling, topped with a chocolate fudge sauce and whipped cream. One serving was plenty for the two of us. Eddie was a great waiter and was attentive throughout our meal. This dining experience ranked in our top five over the past 45 years.

   Historic Dining Room on Mackinac Island's Main Street. Lots of options for meals and combinations of starters, salads and desserts to keep you within a budget.

   I came here for my birthday dinner and it was fabulous! They have some fire pits on the front lawn that I really enjoyed sitting and watching the sunset at.

   Always a "must" when visiting the island. Great view, great food, and great service. Not in- expensive, but our visits have always been worth it. Highly recommended.

   Incredible ambiance, service and food. Jackie was a fabulous waitress. Gave great recommendations. Loved the mussels, filet mignon, and whitefish. Topped off with hot fudge sundae; all with a spectacular view of the water and Marina. Many thanks to the GM Pete Badour.
