   Place is very nice but the food was not the quality we were expecting for the cost of it. Roll were very dry and steak was under cooked and sides were over cooked. But the service was excellent

   Our waiter (1) forgot one item we ordered, (2) didn't inform us our sandwiches would come with fries when we ordered a side order of fries, so we ended up with 3 orders of fries essentially, (3) did not inquire if everything was to our liking until we asked for the bill, and (4) did not know what to do when I very politely told him that the cheeseburger I ordered medium was in fact overdone, just stood there looking awkward. The food was greasy and my husband had a stomach ache afterwards. It looks like a hip place but the quality of cooking needs to improve as well as the schooling of the staff.

   We ate outside and it was a delightful experience ! Great cocktails and menu. The steak was suburb!

   We went for the Monday burger special. The burgers were excellent and the fries were incredible. Highly recommend- perfect for an easy Monday dinner out!

   1st to be fair, it was Easter Sunday dinner, 4:00 reservation. First visit to this restaurant. Have never given & if so, not in a very long time a bad review, but, it’s hard not to when you spend over $510. for 3 adults on Prix Fixe meals. Upon making reservation it was not mentioned that Prix Fixe was our only option with a built in 20% gratuity. Not normal for 3 people and with no exaggeration if we saw our waiter for a total of 15 minutes in the 3-1/2 hrs we were there, yes, 3-1/2 hrs and not because we were chilling. Even though it was a holiday, I can’t say it was super crowded. Our waiter just kept disappearing. Took forever to have him greet us (my husband & brother left for the men’s room, came back & I went, while I was gone he stopped to ask what type of water we wanted) Finally he came back, took our drink orders, my husband and I ordered one each off the special cocktail menu, Lychee Lime Twist & Blood Orange something, both very good & my brother ordered a bourbon old fashioned muddled orange, we waited for them for a good period of time and then waited some more to see him, our waiter again. I don’t know whether he introduced himself when he originally got to the table and I was in the ladies room, but he did not again when I arrived, even after I requested that he please make sure to give me the check at the end of our dinner. Finally we order everything all at once because it is Prix Fixe. Waiting and someone else brings our appetizers, I ordered Spicy Tuna Roll, my husband, Lobster Dumplings & my brother the Roasted Asparagus w/Fried Egg. I’m looking for our waiter because I didn’t get soy sauce or chop sticks & my brother needs salt & pepper (at this $$$ restaurant, no one asking if you’d like fresh ground pepper ever during the meal) finally my husband finished his dumplings & my brother asks another waitress who was passing for the items we needed. Desserts we ordered were out. 3 out of 4. Cappuccino & Expresso were cold Need more space

   I always enjoy 1776 . It has a party atmosphere and the general vibe is one of fun . The service is always good and we enjoy the food which is prepared in their own special way . Today the three of us all had the filet mignon which was delicious . This restaurant is one of my favorites in Morris County and I was so glad when the owner opened here in my neighborhood as I frequently meet my friends in one of his restaurants at the Shore .

   Easter Sunday: Horrible experience, will never go back. Service was terrible, inattentive, there for over 3 hours because of service for pre-fixe BRUNCH menu that was way over priced ($200 for two people which included automatic gratuity) and quality of food was terrible. Not once, did server ever apologize for the lengthy time we had to wait for our food or thanked us for our patience. Ordered all courses including dessert up front and told me three hours later they ran out of my dessert. At one point the kitchen yelling out to the servers to pick up their food, it was complete chaos, others were complaining as well. There was one table that didn't even stay for dessert they were so upset. I could go on and on but not enough space to write here. We always have a choice, we chose wrong with 1776 we expected much better!

    We had an Easter Reservation for 1:45pm. Table wasn’t ready till 2:30. Food arrived after 4pm and it was cold. Prefix menu but most of the desserts were not a available. The service was good, as always, but the restaurant was defiantly overwhelmed and overbooked.
