My husband and I took our boys with out for Saturday dinner at this “gastropub”. I had read that it was kid-friendly but was a bit nervous when we walked up and saw a bunch of 20 something hipsters hanging out. My fears were luckily quickly allayed as the friendly hostess and waiter made us feel right at home. I had the Bahn-Mi Tacos and loved them. My husband enjoyed his Hokey Poke greatly. And the kids raved, too, especially about their milkshakes.

The menu was highly interesting and all over the place from cold soba, ramen, burgers, pizza, corn dogs, and creamy penne. The names of everything and descriptions were all quirky and enticing but I can't say anything was memorable. Nothing was bad but nothing was good, so very middle of the pack. The crowd was excruciatingly energetic, watching college football, presumably drunk, and shouting at the top of their lungs and tripping over each other didn't make for a pleasant dinner atmosphere. Our waiter even foreboding our experience warned us that it was college football season with a bit of an eye roll. The milk shakes were divine, like seriously delicious and over the top in a good way - but other than the shakes I can't say I'd ever have a reason to go back, nothing was great and nothing was terrible.

The service was very slow, despite it being empty. Out of three people at our table, waiter forgot one person’s entire order. Very warm inside.

My task was to find a fun restaurant for six adults of varying ages close enough to Oriole Park so we would be able to walk to a concert there. Found it! 101 Baltimore was vibrant and delicious. We were seated immediately at a table out front. Our server greeted us and took our drink order. We ended up dining on fabulous appetizers. The brisket empanadas were yummy, the chicken fingers hot and crispy accompanied by a delicious dipping sauce. Crab dip was good but needed more crab. The menu looked really good and we’ll be back for entrees for sure. Cocktails were well made and satisfying. The restaurant was absolutely jammed but our service was wonderful! Thank you for a fun beginning to our evening!

101 Baltimore is an adorable little bar, with a great SOUNDING menu. I was sad that they didn’t have the CBD oil for the CBD Bloody Mary. But I went ahead and ordered a regular one. The basil Vodka was interesting to say the least. We ordered the Donut Chicken Sandwich, and the Chicken and Waffles. I donut was horrifying. It was basically just onion bread, and the egg was essentially scrambled. When I hear “donut fried chicken sandwich” I’m expecting a mouth-explosion of sweet and salty and the drippy egg. And it was disappointing. The chicken and waffles also could’ve used a drippy egg, and way lesssss honey. The spice was nice, but it was a lot, and there was no avoiding it. The service was great, great energy in the space, nice layout, but the doos and drinks left a lot to be desired. Definitely great ideas, just not executed well.
