   We enjoyed a superb Sunday evening meal at 10 Castle Street. The venue is simply stunning, and the food was just as wonderful! It was very quiet, as might be expected on a dark damp Sunday in early January, but that just meant we had even more attention from the lovely staff. Two of my companions had the traditional Roast Beef whilst my other companion and I enjoyed some of the more exotic dishes on offer. Everybody very happy! We will certainly be back, and perhaps for lunch to enjoy the gardens a little.

   We reserved an early table at 5pm but didn’t realise it was afternoon tea! The reservation didn’t confirm this but I also did not check out the menu which was an option! The staff were extremely accommodating, they offered to make us a reservation at a restaurant nearby or wait until 7pm, we decided to wait and they gave us a drink on the house and sat us in their gorgeous room by the fire, they took our order and as soon as the chefs came in they cooked our food and we were eating by 7pm, couldn’t ask for anything else, the ambience in the room was perfect, the music was nice and the staff were great, our steak was cooked to perfection and we had a fabulous wedding anniversary, will definitely return

   Our visit to 10 Castle Street for a special lunch on Christmas Eve with my elderly mother together with other family members exceeded expectation on every level. Despite a little trepidation after reading some of the less than positive reviews on TripAdvisor (confirming my opinion that some people are simply not fit to leave reviews), we had a really wonderful time. All the team were exceptionally friendly and attentive, Dean being our mainstay during our visit and being especially charming to my mother. Food service was admittedly a little slow but we didn't mind as we had time to catch up and enjoy the Country Life ambience of what is an extremely tasteful refurbishment of a wonderful country house. The foie gras appetiser was stunningly presented and delicious - all our selections were very happily received. We'll definitely return and look forward to that.

   Very slow service. I like don’t like to be rushed but the service this was a little too slow. Also the dinning room was bitterly cold, though they did light the fire once I mentioned how cold we all were. Unfortunately by the time it got going we had moved to the lounge where there was a lovely fire. Staff excellent, menu good but fish portion was very meagre and would have been small even as a starter. Having said all that, we enjoyed our visit and will come again

   Staff were very engaging and friendly. Food and drink beautifully presented. The staff clearly take pride in the service they offer as they had a good knowledge of the service and were enthusiastic about the drink offerings We really enjoyed our evening and plan another visit soon.

   Surprised no one else in the place on a Friday lunchtime. It appeared to be virtually closed as the staff were busy organising a weekend party. Did not make us feel at all welcome and we felt we were just in the way. They should not have been open to outside customers if they were so busy concentrating on their own arrangements. We were basically left to our own devices - I had to go and ask for a plate to put our fish carcasses on and then I had to go and find someone so I could pay the bill. Really not a pleasant experience. Very disappointed that the customer is not important. Will not recommend this place in fact the opposite. I will definitely tell people not to bother going there.

   very nice location. comfortable. friendly staff. food very good. will go back in the better weather to enjoy the gardens as well. will also consider looking into staying too.

   Unfortunately I have to leave a negative review, such a shame as the staff were very friendly. I didn't let the restaurant know I was Vegan because they have a vegan menu online. When I asked for the menu I was told ”Hold on we will make one up” Approximately 10mins later a menu arrive with butter included in the menu! I don't think the chief could have seen the menu that was given to me because the food was definitely not what I ordered. County Vegtable soup was a very tiny bowl of slightly cold tomato soup with no side of bread. Main, I ordered Thai style vegetables, I was served some of the worst food I have ever eaten in a restaurant. A handful of vegetables that were drenched in soy sauce.The rice that came with it arrived 10mins afterward. My partner said his food was ok but definitely not anything special. The next evening we went to the pub across the road and the food was far better and half the price. Please don’t waste your money, the only positive is the staff are friendly and you can take your dog with you.

    Beautiful settings and not disappointed by the inside. Showed to a lovely bar for a pre meal drink , the dining area is superb and there is a lovely lounge with an open fire to have a drink after. Food was very good m my partner and I both had the lamb which had some very special flavours. Must give a special mention to Stacey, Alice and Lotte whose service was quite exceptional and do all they can to enhance your dining experience. Can’t wait to go back there for another visit
