   My fourth time at the restaurant beginning more than ten years ago. I found the execution of the dishes has lost its finesse. Crab rillettes a bit flavorless or at least underseasoned. Chicken paillard (a favorite dish) had a rubbery texture, and the accompanying olive-almond tapenade muddied rather than enlivened the dish. Frites had little color and were not the delightful indulgence I remembered.

   Fabulous experience … delicious food and great service. We had a table overlooking Rittenhouse Square. And birthday desert was delicious and complimentary!

   I didn’t realize that a 10 AM reservation was going to look a lot like entering a Walmart on Black Friday circa 2005 but at least I was guaranteed a seat. Just chaotic and stressful getting inside even with that many people coming in at one time.

   Opening at ten am created a very long line. Not great situation in bad weather. Maybe having 3 people checking people in might be helpful.

   We were not disappointed in this restaurant. Very friendly welcome, friendly and efficient service, good food and drink, and a lively and festive atmosphere in which we could also converse easily even with my mild hearing loss.

   Food is always great! Stars off for ambiance because there are good and bad tables locations and when you get a bad one it really detracts from the experience. Avoid the back room area closest to the servers area any time of year. Yesterday was very cold and we were near the door servers used to go in and out to people eating outside - it was a fairly constant stream of cold blasts of air. Too crowded to move to another table so we wore our coats.
