   It breaks my heart to have to be so blunt (especially since my father loves it), but, this place is definitely overrated and (of course IMHO) one to pass on if you have a choice. It feels, smells, and tastes like a cafeteria in a senior home - and certainly not in a good way. The oysters are as old as the building the restaurant sits on, and I highly recommend staying far away from them. I do not believe there is any restaurant experience quite as excruciatingly slow, disappointing, and sickening as this one. I believe that paints a harsh but accurate picture.

   Three of us had a terrible experience at Normandie Farms. Our waiter took our order: one salad, a second salad to be split for two people, and three entrees. Our wine and popovers were served. Then one salad was brought. Thinking the other two were on the way, we patiently waited, but nothing else came. So we called over the waiter to ask where they were. He and the asst. manager discussed this and told us we only ordered one salad appetizer, one dinner salad, and two entrees. We were really surprised at this because the waiter had repeated our order. After restating what we actually ordered, we were told that the other salads would be right out. Twenty minutes later, no salads had appeared. I told the asst. manager that if they didn't show up immediately, we were leaving. They didn't, so we got up from the table. Suddenly, someone was there with one salad, not two as requested. We left. I called and spoke to the manager, Kay Hussein, the next day. Turns out the waiter and asst. manager took no responsibility for their mistake and instead told him we changed our order. He apologized and said he would call me the next day and arrange for the three of us to have dinner on him whenever we wanted. Still waiting for the call. I don't expect to hear from him. The incident was handled very badly and I would definitely not recommend dining at this restaurant when there are so many other choices.

   Always a pleasure to take friends here. Food is consistant and great quality. Service is wonderful and specials change often enough. Will return soon.

   Our waiter was very helpful in explaining menu items and making changes we needed to accommodate a gluten-free diet. The pop-overs, as usual, were a real treat (except of our gluten-free guest, of course.)

   The restaurant failed below expectations. Food on the buffet sat a long time and was not replaced or refreshed. It lacked creativity and execution. Veal Marsala and Beef Stroganoff tasted identically. Deserts were soggy and clearly recently defrosted. We celebrated b-day and they brought the cake before the birthday lady came to sit at table.

   Normandy Farms is a lovely restaurant. Our food was very good though the beef tips did not have much flavor. The haddock and the salmon were very good. The oysters and the calamari were also very good! We were celebrating a Birthday. After dinner the waiter surprised us with a ‘happy’ dessert with a lit candle which was delightful. When we arrived the dinningroom was freezing cold so they did adjust the temperature. There was an extremely noisy table of about 10 people which made it hard to hear. The table sang happy birthday 4 times to one person! We were hoping to go into the bar afterwards to hear the music but unfortunately the wheelchair lift was broken.

   The brunch buffet was extremely good and varied. It contained a number of items not usually found on such buffets, like veal pate as a starter and English trifle for dessert. We thoroughly enjoyed our brunch experience and will return.

    Four of us were celebrating a birthday. I had booked well in advance, since that day was also Bastille Day and I expected it to be crowded. As it was, at 1:00 on a Saturday, the main dining room was nearly empty, which was great for us, as it meant we could converse easily. My friends and I loved the pop-overs and thoroughly enjoyed our meals (two orders of scallops, a duck, and a quiche Lorraine). I had mentioned the birthday in the reservation, not asking for or expecting anything special, but without a word from any of us on the day, the birthday girl was presented with a special piece of chocolate cake with a single candle, all very low key and gracefully done. It put the icing (so to speak) on a lovely meal. She has been coming to Normandie Farm since the 1940s, and it's lovely to be able to continue the tradition with her.
