- JJosephHouston •10 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoWe dined on 4/21 and had a lovely time. The food was absolutely wonderful - crab cake, crab bisque, 8 oz filet, and lamb chops. Enjoyed the plantains at the start - a nice light treat and better than bread to start. The bread with the meal was enjoyable as well. The service was pretty good although we had to ask for our check when we were ready to leave and our waitress was talking to another table (she wasn't serving them at the time ... just in conversation). Love the ambiance and how it's not a large restaurant. Definitely will return!More infoRudy & Paco Restaurant & BarPrice: Expensive• Seafood• Galveston•4.9

- SScottHouston •9 reviews5.0Dined on Apr 5, 2025Absolutely fantastic experience celebrating my kiddo’s 18th birthday here! The seafood was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked — every dish was a hit with the whole group. What really stood out, though, was the service. The staff went above and beyond to make the night special for our birthday crew. They were attentive, patient, and made sure every guest (especially the teens!) felt welcome and taken care of. Can’t thank them enough for making it such a memorable evening! Highly recommend.More infoSugar & Rye Coastal Kitchen & Cocktail BarPrice: Moderate• Seafood• Galveston•4.7

Discover Galveston
On the small island of Galveston, most areas are geared toward tourism. That said, you'll find permanent locals enjoying fresh gulf shrimp, locally sourced steaks, or stuffed crab side-by-side with island visitors. Seawall dining, within walking distance of the surf, is generally more casual. More formal dining is available downtown. Many of the restaurants are owned and operated by second generation Galveston families, and the general atmosphere is open and welcome. As you would expect, the majority of eateries emphasize seafood that has been harvested from the surrounding gulf, although there are some Italian and even Greek restaurants sprinkled among the shrimp and lobster establishments.
