Bann Thai hopes to offer a unique restaurant for the area, combining a friendly, comfortable, and upscale atmosphere with excellent and interesting Thai cuisine food. We want to be the restaurant of choice for adventurous and health conscious singles, couples, families, and business professionals.
According to Jet Tila, celebrity chef and culinary ambassador to the US, the popularity of Thai food comes down to a balance of flavors between sour, sweet, rich, and savory. He stated that “There is a meeting point where I think most people could say this dish or cuisine is very crave able”.
The owner is a native Thai chef who gained her authentic experience through many years of hands-on local cooking in Thailand, followed by over 6 years working as a Thai chef in the Chicago area.

Reservations are for tables only: the bar and the patio are first come, first seated. Reservations are for indoor dining... the Patio & Wine Garden are first come-first served. Accidentally discovered in 2018 during the building of our parent restaurant, Hudson and Essex, we have refurbished the caverns once used to store beer before air conditioning into a one of a kind dining experience. Every Friday and Saturday night we provide an 8 course dinner with wine pairings from our home winery ( Cypress Hill Winery ) using wines made with California grapes. Prepaid reservation only.
