   Excellent service, dinner special has many options at a very fair price, portions are generous, food is of great quality. Tables are roomy. Just a nice experience all around.

   I have been here a few other times and loved it. I expected last night to be the same, it was not. My boyfriend and I ordered the weekend 3 course special. He ordered the steak. When it came he did not like the way it looked. He took a bite and said it is very chewy. as a non meat eater I have no idea what that means. After a few bites he choked. I am not sure I was ever so scared. Very very frightening. Thank god he was able to dislodge the steak. A few staff members noticed, most did not. However quite a few patrons noticed. The people at the next table had asked if he choked on a bone because they ordered something that was supposed to be boneless and it had a piece of bone. They asked if it was the special and when we said yes they said that explains it. Said they have been here often and will never be back because of their experience tonight. My boyfriend will not stop talking about how his steak was the worst steak ever and that is independent of his choking on it but I believe the cause of the choking. Our waitress was very nice, however it was terrible service. She never once came back to ask if we needed another drink or anything. We asked a bus boy to get her for our dessert order. Someone must have known because at some point another waiter came over to then take our dessert order which we already gave but asked him for the check which he never gave us. The whole experience was terrible. I would think it was just an anomaly but after speaking to the other couple I do not think it is. Very shocking from a ROTHMANN restaurant.

   Service was excellent, the portions of the dinners were excellent. Cost was very reasonable.

   We went on a weeknight and all 4 of us ordered off the prix fix menu - quite the bargain. Full size appetizer and entree, glass of wine and dessert. The portions were large, the food was excellent. For a week night the restaurant had a large crowd, but we were still able to talk and enjoy ourselves. This was my first time there, but I would definitely go back, and our friends agreed.

   Matteo's has been consistently very good with a good assorted menu, good service, well stocked bar, and nice dinning atmosphere.

    The food and service at Matteo's of Roslyn was outstanding! We had the Branzino and the Chicken Parm. As this was our first visit to this restaurant, we always try the Chicken Parm..if they can not get that simple staple correct, the rest of the meals probably won't be either. However, both were excellent! The portion size was large and could feed both of us. We selected our dishes from the fixed price menu. We enjoyed our meal so much, we took our family there the next evening and they agreed with us. The service was excellent as well. When the staff discovered we were eating "family style" (sharing), they took the extra step to cut up our dishes into sharing portions. They were attentive and went above and beyond with their service. As a former waiter in a high end restaurant, I was impressed with the quality of service provided My only critique would be the "house" wine served on the fixed price menu. I would have liked the option to upgrade it a glass on the regular menu. As this was done for several of the dishes on the menu...why not the wine? I found the house wine "disappointing" and a distraction from the overall meal. Highly recommended!
