Very small and noisy dining room. "Dining room" is a misnomer: wasn't this the office of a filling station? The kitchen and other parts of the building are 3x larger than the dining room. We should have taken our plates out front to eat on the park bench facing Maple Ave West. The Saturday brunch menu is very limited and the chicken sandwich was greasy and ordinary. Decent wine, undesirable desserts.

If it weren't for the fraying around the edges and the low-budget appointments on this 60s era H&R-Block-looking building, it would remind me of a cozy Provencal bistro. Small, uncomplicated menu with very interesting items that are all consistently delicious. Great service by a knowledgeable staff. Cozy and warm environment with the world whizzing by. Think about parking around the corner or on church street as the parking lot is small and awkward.

Delicious dishes. The bone marrow and chicken wings were one of the best appetizers I've ever had. The main courses were excellent as well. The chef cooked it in a way that it took each person's pallet into consideration.

I love Maple Avenue, the food is always delicious and surprising. The portions aren't huge which I prefer. I can get an appetizer an entre and a dessert and not feel like I gorged myself to death. And it's always tasty and unique. If I'm going to out for food I want to eat something I can't make myself at home and I can get all kinds of unique things at Maple Ave that I never would of thought of or know how to make. Like those truffled eggs! They were incredible!

Great food. We finally tried this neighborhood restaurant during Washington DC restaurant week and it was beyond our expectation. Small space but very cozy just like French bistro.

I've been wanting to try this place for ages, so I figured restaurant week would be the perfect time to do so! My friend and I had a great experience. We ordered a bunch of different things and shared them. The first thing to come out we're the creme fresh wings, and if everything else was terrible, they would still earn the place five stars. I want to keep a bottle of that sauce in my purse and put it on everything! The only things we weren't really blown away with we're the desserts- the bread pudding was a touch on the dry side- a sauce would have helped- and while the cheesecake mousse had fantastic texture, a little acidity would have cut the richness. This gem is tiny - definitely make reservations. The service is friendly and attentive, without being hovering. 100% worth a try or five - and make sure you get the wings!!

I'm writing this after dining at Maple Ave Restaurant for the third time in the past month (once for dinner, twice for brunch). It's truly remarkable. I've remarked to my coworkers, my friends, my family (who live nowhere near here), and now to you about how innovative and delicious this place is. After eating here once, I made it my mission to try everything on the menu(s). For my first dinner experience, I shared the fried green tomatoes (I could've eaten it all myself) and devoured the duck confit. I also ate a good portion of my friend's braised beef cheek. Everything was phenomenal. Particular kudos go to the caramelized brussels sprouts, which were cooked to perfection. Next time, I ordered the seared scallops, which were DIVINE. All of the flavors (basil, coconut, fish) balanced so perfectly on my tongue. I would get this every time if I didn't feel like I owed it to the chef to try everything she offers on her menu. The creme friache chicken wings, which I also devoured, were ideal for sharing and simply flawless. This past time, I delighted in the venison omelette. Everything on my plate was perfectly cooked, especially the crisp and delicious homefries, which come on all but one brunch plate. I look forward to checking off the remaining items and do hope you'll get to experience this place for yourself. Definitely call ahead to ensure you can get a table.

Had dinner during restaurant week. Unlike some restaurants, there was a really nice selection : started with the mussels and the blueberry salad; then on to the scallops with risotto and basil ice cream (yum) and beef cheek with side dishes (presentation on that one was a little off but it tasted yummy); dessert was cheesecake mousse and a lemon ice thing (that was the only thing that was just so-so as it was super tart). Service was excellent and all in all, it was a lovely meal. The place is small and not fancy but feels friendly and intimate. We will be back.

We enjoyed an outstanding brunch on a Sunday morning. The food was delicious, and the Service was also friendly and solid. The dining area is tight, and we had our young son with us, which put a little pressure on us to keep quiet. That said, other children rolled in later, and the quality of food kept folks focused on their meals. Recommend the pancakes, shrimp and grits, truffled eggs and charcuterie plate with marrow add-on.
