   This was our first time at L'Opossum, but it will not be our last. It is a small unassuming place, but the service and the food are far greater than the sum of its parts. We had so much fun with the whimsical menu options and the eclectic decor. It almost felt more like having dinner at someone's house than at a restaurant since both the decor and the menu reflected the personality of the chef and owner. I would highly recommend everyone try it even if it turns out not to be your kind of place, you don't know until you try and for us...it was a home run and a we will be back. Sorry it took so long for us to try to begin with,

   It wasn't just dinner, it was an experience. Went to celebrate our anniversary and it couldn't have been more perfect. All the food was delicious and the staff is so sweet!! The creme brulee was my favorite part, I will be thinking about it forever.

   This was our first visit. We had to make reservations a few months ago because Saturday afternoons are popular times. Well, the day finally came. Don’t expect huge portions. Don’t expect it to be kraft macaroni and cheese served in a bowl. What we got was delicious, attractive food, thoughtfully served. The lobster bisque soup was excellent. The duck confit appetizer was even moreso. It’s not a large venue, don’t expect to walk in on the weekend and be served. But if you’re looking for a nice place with tasty food… Make the reservation. Celebrate the moment.

   Based on reviews, the rave and what I had heard about the menu, I was expecting a more relaxed and enjoyable experience. In summary, overwhelming decor (but you may like that), and the staff could improve their coordination and timing. On the other hand, I must say, the food was flavorful, nicely presented and on itself very good. But overall, as an experience, the value was low for me. Coming in, it takes a minute… It’s dimly lit, but when adjusted it becomes a visual overload of eclectic decorations on plain walls and basic drop ceiling.. We had cocktails, Poire Royale and Jock Snifter, which were good and served in nice glasses with ambiance appropriate decoration, specially the Snifter. Cute, fun, I’m talking about it now… I was surprised to see the shell-less escargot appetizer, except for one. But when I pulled the little morsel off its shell and finding sand and grit, I was glad the others had been properly cleaned. For me the turn down was when we were asked by three different waiters if we were done with the appetizer which made feel rushed. The crab cakes, fillet mignon and dessert (slice of a folded pastry with butter and sugar) were very good and cook to order…. But we had to wait a bit for the entrees even after the appetizer had been bused. I understand that there’s a fine balance serving complex dishes, but the mood had been spoiled. My advice: You should try it, if you can afford it, and experience it your way. Who knows, you may love it or else… just make sure to plan ahead, reservations are needed weeks in advance!

   INCREDIBLE experience. James Beard worthy. Our server, Susan, is the best. Her description of every menu item is illustrious, artistic, & irresistible. The icing on the cake to our exceptional L'O experience is a kind hello from the owner, David, and the manager, Will. I'm still thinking about the lobster bisque, duck confit pave, and the "Kouign-Amann" crusty, buttery dessert. Oh, we adore the playlist, as well. Thank you friends! xx Tracy, Tom, Herb, Betsy

   This is our second experience at L'Opposum and we look forward to returning. The food is excellent, the vibe is perfect, and the staff is amazing. From the moment we walked in and the host greeted us by saying 'Happy Anniversary', we knew it would be a great, thoughtful experience. THANK YOU to all. Also -- the inner saboteur -- amazing.

    Family of four celebrating a birthday. This place had great reviews and we wanted to try it out. It has a super quirky vibe, right down to all the clowns in the bathroom :). Service was outstanding. We had the escargot and the oysters as appetizers and both were amazing. Our group had the Beef Swellington, lobster mac n cheese, baby quail and the Coq a Morocco as main dishes, everyone said their meal was outstanding. The coq a Morocco was probably the moistest and most flavorful chicken dish my son has had. Desserts were good but not as notable as the main dishes. The cocktail menu is fun with some very "interesting" names. If you're in the area and looking for a fine dining experience without the stuffiness of some places I would highly recommend L'Opossum!
