I took my son here for his 20th birthday dinner and from the start they made it a great experience. Had a sign and decorations on the table and took a photo and printed it out. The service was fantastic and the food was unbelievable. I had the sea bass and wish I could have it everyday. My son got the tomahawk steak and said it was amazing. Definitely worth the money for a great experience.

We keep saying we have to try other items on the menu, yet somehow we always go for the Tomahawk Tuesday meal. Excellent salads (Fleming and Ceasar;s), sides (mashed potatoes and creamed spinach), desserts (cheesecake and chocolate lava). Delicious and plentiful so we always end up with a bag of leftovers, which when finished makes us crave for the next time! Servers and wait staff were efficient, courteous and knowledgeable.

Decided to go to El Torito on the marina before attending a production of Grease at the Alterna Theatre, which is only about 5 miles up the road so it was very convenient. I hadn’t been to an El Torito in years! I ordered the appetizer nacho supreme, and it was more than enough food! I was glad they had leftover chips on the table because the only thing lacking in the nachos was enough chips to eat all of the goodies on top. My sister ordered a combo with a taco and an enchilada. She asked for her taco to be prepared without meat and wished they had made a little more effort than just beans and lettuce to make it a little more hearty. We were seated right by the window, so it’s nice to be looking at the water. They had mariachis for about 10 minutes, which was a nice extra we weren’t expecting. When we arrived at 5:30 it was fairly quiet, but by the time we left at seven, the place was getting back so I recommend a reservation. Parking was easy. We had two margaritas, but did not get the happy hour pricing because they don’t offer that in the dining room, only the bar area. I’m guessing that’s simply out of convenience for the waitress. Our service was fine.

Tzatziki was the best I've had anywhere - zesty without too much dill. The beet salad was delicious, with a hefty portion of beets and lovely flavors that melded well. My dining companion thought the chicken kabob was excellent. If you aren't a drinker you have a choice of several fancy mocktails. If you enjoy wine you will find the offerings varied and excellent, with both California and Europe represented. I loved my Rosé from Cotes de Provence.

Food & service were good. Timing between courses could have been a little longer. Not enough time to finish appetizers. $25 for a burger is a bit much. Chili peanut dressing for the asparagus appetizer would be easier to manage if the peanuts were chopped.

Wonderful evening. We were greeted and sat right away for a 6pm Saturday night reservation. Wonderful large booth for a party of 3. Maria greeted us promptly & was available for all our questions about the menu. My mother has many allergies & is dietary limited. Maria spoke with the chef & had a dish available to enjoy. I always enjoy when my mother can enjoy fine dining especially in a steakhouse. We started our evening with a bottle of Moët to accompany our steak tartare & pork belly. We were not a huge fan of the bread pudding layered on the pork belly but the steak tartare was beautifully seasoned & and appropriate portion to enjoy & have room for the main course. Check out their wine list as they have great vertical offerings. We proceeded to order the waygu flight cooked medium rare, came out perfect with a flight of flake salts. 10/10. Mac & cheese was a home style baked with crunchy breadcrumbs seasoned on top. I’m also a big fan of wild mushrooms & Maria made sure they were made to our specifications. Onion rings were perfectly fried with a light golden crisp. I also enjoyed a basil hayden on a block ice. Their block ice is laser engraved with a picture of cattle cuts. Super cool, great presentation! To end our night, Maria brought out a mini version of their chocolate molten to celebrate my sons 15th birthday. As being a member of the service industry our expectations are set pretty high. This is the second time I’ve dined at LB steakhouse & we will definitely return again.
