About this restaurant

  • Good for special occasions
  • Great for fine wines
  • Romantic
One of Chicago’s finest dining experiences awaits you in this elegant town home setting that balances formality and friendliness. Your dinner may be paired with fine wines, as uncommon ingredients come together in perfect harmony. In operation since 1978, Les Nomades remains true to its distinctive character as an oasis of civilized tranquility amidst the bustling activity of its Streeterville location. Culinary creations delight the most discriminating palates. Savor Sautéed Foie Gras, or Lobster Ravioli with seared scallops; Roasted Breast and Confit Leg of Duck, or Duo of Roasted Partridge and Bison. Artisan cheeses are extraordinary and the pastries are sublime.
Please keep in mind that proper attire is required including a jacket for gentlemen.

Attentive and experienced staff, great drinks and food options, fixed menu made it easy to order. We ended with a soufflé that will bring us back. *Gentlemen, although they don’t enforce this policy, but Jacket is strongly recommended, don’t be that guy! Sorry I was that guy 😓.

Disappointing despite their best efforts We've not been to Les Nomades in many years, and I was hoping for a great dining experience. The staff are welcoming and capable and service is exemplary. The dining room is getting a bit worn but the ambiance is quiet and comfortable, with starched linens, formal silver plate, modest glassware and china. Sadly, the food, while ambitious, is not up to par. My foie gras appetizer with a heavy cherry sauce was served on a plate that was so hot the foie gras melted into oil as fast as I could eat it. The lobster salad was uninspired, lightly dressed chopped romaine with a reasonable amount of unadorned lobster surrounding it and some additional flavorless sauces as accents. The duck was workmanlike at best. Simple sliced breast and a dry overdone leg in a basic presentation. Dessert was grand marnier souffles which were perfect. It feels as if the kitchen has been serving the same dishes forever and the staff are simply uninspired, going through the motions. At its heart the menu is quite simple and simple is hard. It requires obsessive attention.

A beautiful evening with a gorgeous 4 course set menu. The presentation, taste and texture of all dishes was first class. A little too quiet for my wife and I as it was mid week and I honestly feel that some restaurants add to the whole experience with some atmosphere but that’s my personal opinion ie. it doesn’t have to be silent like a library to be a fine dining experience.

One of the finest restaurants in Chicago. Quiet, romantic, and elegant. Not cheap (yes expensive), and not energetic and trendy. If your looking for a memorable experience with the best food and service, you won't be disappointed.

Terrific birthday dinner with the usual outstanding food, service, and ambiance. Adam our waiter was outstanding. Wines are somewhat surprisingly affordable in context. Look forward to returning.
