We went to celebrate my mother’s 88th birthday. The food was great, the service excellent (Leigh was amazing and so friendly), the price was incredibly reasonable for our party of 11 and the only reason the noise level was on the higher side was because of us! I particularly liked the personal touch of the birthday candles in my mum’s desert. I would totally recommend Carluccio’s (Gunwharf).

We always come to Pho in Portsmouth as our favourite! This was slightly disappointing. The restaurant was really quiet, and the service was still quite slow. Took the gentleman 15 mins to take our order even though we were trying to get his attending. Chicken Summer rolls and pork spring rolls to start. The summer rolled seemed really condense and not much in them, compared to usual. The mains - chicken salad and chicken curry - both delicious and really tasty! The price seemed really expensive compared to normal too? The salad was £14.95 which just didn’t seem right? Same with the summer rolls usally £6.95, were £7.95? I appreciate it’s the beginning of the new tax year but some costs seem abit much. And again please stop adding service charge - then asking to add a tip too!

The fish soup was great unfortunately the steak was not good half of it was rare and half was medium it all should have been medium rare. It was taken off the bill but I would have preferred a perfectly cooked steak. Pistachio soufflé was as good as it always is but the crumble lacked crumble on top and there was not enough custard Service was very good. Overall it was a shame the food wasn’t great today.

Obi recommended the small plates, which were reasonably priced and very tasty. Hayley was also very friendly - I’d recommend visiting to all my friends :)
