Restaurants near Shanghai Grand Theatre

The afternoon teaset is an absolute delight! Friendly staff and a great view. It was a wonderful experience.

we ordered afternoon tea set (about 650cny for 2). tea and food were good enough, place was nice.

I had a small family dinner here with my uncle and aunt. The service and the food were all excellent. I was looking for a restaurant that could provide a new spin on more formal cantonese or shanghainese cooking without deviating too far from tradition. Notwithstanding the descriptions of this restaurant online, I would describe the cuisine here as modern formal Chinese, not as French-Chinese fusion. If you are looking for "fusion" cuisine, look elsewhere. In any case, I think the menu here is excellent and the kitchen really does an excellent job of presenting an innovative spin on classic shanghai dishes like drunken crab.

Perfectly good meal with very friendly service. The dining room could be anywhere in the World - would prefer a local twist on an American steakhouse. The music was American rock which was a bit inappropriate for a high end restaurant. Be sure to sign up for the Bonvoy programme to enjoy a substantial discount on the otherwise hefty price tags.
