The PCH has been in the Haig's family for decades, it was leased for thirty years, but William Haig a new generation decided to take over the family business in 2017. The Merrijig Kitchen is housed in the historic Merrijig Inn {1842), known as Victoria's oldest Inn. Situated across from the Port Fairy wharf, in the heart of gorgeous Port Fairy. We are HIGH on atmosphere and write our menu daily, after Tanya chats with our fish monger, veggie growers, local butcher and any of our wonderful local gardeners who may pop in with their backgarden produce. We spend a lot of time on our drinks program, offering our local Henty wine region producers, smattered between regional and international producers adhering to organic and biodynamic practises. We love a bespoke cocktail, which we make inspired by our garden and of course, offer local artisan beer on tap. Pop in, we'd love to see you whilst you are enjoying Port Fairy!

    The food last Saturday was amazing, last minute decision. We returned tonight for a birthday and again couldn’t fault. We will definately be back, a very friendly welcoming venue to all ages. Your hosts were wonderful with the kids. See you very soon.

    Absolutely loved our visit to Dart and Marlin! The pizza was fantastic—with plenty of vegan options that didn’t feel like an afterthought. The staff were warm, attentive, and really knowledgeable about the wines on their list, which made for a perfect pairing. The atmosphere was relaxed yet vibrant, and the standout for us was the potato pizza made vegan—exquisite! Can’t wait to come back.

    Every time we come here we cannot fault this hotel. It has a totally relaxed feeling and staff are always willing to assist. I had the local flake and chips this time and it was fresh and tasty, my partner had the surf and turf special and he really enjoyed it. Great Hotel 👌
