El Jacmel Inn se abrió en junio de 1977, después de 6 meses reformando el establecimiento en el que se encuentra, construido en 1888. Este establecimiento antiguo de 2 plantas ocupa casi 1 hectárea y se sitúa a 9 calles del centro histórico de Hammond. El exuberante paisaje, el nuevo patio y el amplio aparcamiento hacen del Jacmel Inn un oasis culinario al que merece la pena ir, a solo 96 kilómetros de Nueva Orleans. El menú de platillos ha evolucionado a lo largo de los años, pero siempre utiliza marisco fresco de Luisiana y técnicas de cocina y platillos derivados de la cultura tradicional de Luisiana. Hace 31 años que sirve filetes excelentes de res de Iowa alimentada con maíz. El chef Doyle Orlando crea un menú de platillos que cambia cada temporada. En estos últimos 20 años, los comensales han disfrutado mucho de la temporada de cenas con diferentes bodegas como invitadas.     In our opinion the Lighthouse is one of the very finest in Hammond, Awesome service from our server Lauren full attention not overbearing but there every time . Drinks very good , However the meal was the very best

    We went to Jacmel Inn to celebrate our anniversary. The service was impeccable. The restaurant and grounds are lovely. And every single thing we had, from cocktails to entrees to dessert, was DELICIOUS. We will be going back!

    Overall it was a good lunch experience. Our server was on top of his game with the taking and delivery of our orders. The restaurant was good on timing of the food coming to the table. However even though everything was delicious as usual, the seafood gumbo was served lukewarm. It was not at the temperature it should have been. This was a late lunch reservation for 1:30 PM and was served around 2 PM. I will try another late lunch reservation and order the seafood gumbo to see if it comes at a normal hot temperature. Look for my next review.
