    First to visit to Mount Vernon and wanted to eat dinner at the restaurant. The restaurant is very quaint. Although the structure was built over 100 years after the original Mount Vernon, according to the host, the structure retains a historical feel. Our waitress was very polite, friendly, and checked in on us frequently. We had the shrimp and grits, turkey pot pie, crab cakes dinner, and fricassee. Everything had a hearty texture to it, bold flavors, and we definitely did not leave hungry. It was a great ending to our first tour at Mount Vernon. Highly recommend combining your visit with lunch or dinner afterwards.

    The food was delicious. The service impeccable. My one and only complaint is the tables are so close together that you can barely get through or have a private conversation. To leave our table, I couldn’t pull out my chair or I would have hit the person behind me. Had to scoot out sideways. Parking lot is also very small and tight.
