mid week visit as it had been a while since our last visit. Ordered fish Amritsari as a starter to share - very tasty and well presented, accompanied by chilli sauce. then for our mains had 2 different prawn curries with rice, washed down by a glass of rose wine (2 different rose wines on the menu so tried them both) followed by coffees as too full for desert. quiet on arrival but more diners arrived whilst we were there including groups and families. restaurant a mix of couples and family celebratory groups which is always good to see. Food is always well presented and tasty - had to ask what one of the ingredients on the menu was for the curry and the waitress had to ask the kitchen, responding it was a type of fried spice added to the dish. One curry was sweeter/milder with coconut and the other with ginger had more heat. Both were tasty. Wine went well with both dishes. Coffee at the end of the meal finished it off well . Service was good too.

5 star as always would highly recommend if you have never been

This was my third time eating Sunday lunch at The Great Barr Hotel The first time everything was top notch including the food.. The second time I went the food was edible, but slightly below the standard of the first time.. This last visit everything had improved, the food was good again, the sweet (apple crumble was wonderful) the custard not so good though as it was lumpy. Overall three courses for £19.95 was excellent value for money, and enjoyable.. The young man who was waiting tables was professional and very helpful. In my opinion, this is well worth a visit, you couldn't buy a joint of beef for the cost of al courses. Be aware the roast menu is limited to Beef, Chicken or a vegetarian option. well worth a visit, I will be going back. a note if you drive, don't forget to register your car registration number at the Bar.
