   We went here on Easter Sunday for dinner as a family and I can’t begin to explain how amazing this place was. The service from the start was impeccable and lasted until the minute we left. Everything we ate was delicious from appetizers to dessert. You have got to get the fresh mozzarella, seriously if you are a true mozzarella eater don’t leave without having some. The riceballs are an absolute must as well for a starter. All of our entrees were so tasty that I felt like I was back in Italy eating again. For dessert you have to have the bananas foster which they make table side. This was our first visit to “the little onion”, La Cipollina and it definitely won’t be our last.

   It was a lovely dinner, the specials were top notch and they didn’t rush us or push us to anything. It was relaxed and felt like a true fine dining experience

   The food was good, we were celebrating our anniversary with a couple of friends. The service was lacking, left much to be desired. One of the servers accidentally spilled wine in one of our couple’s dinner plate and there was no attempt made to even offer a replacement as a courtesy or to waive off the one item. Just felt inattentive service or maybe they were overwhelmed. Will think again before celebrating another event there.

   This place is 30 minutes from me. Food was good but nothing special enough to drive this far when there are so many nice Italian restaurants closer to me. Service was ok and nothing special. Staff needs more training.

   Food was excellent as usual. Been going to this restaurant for many years and we love it. I especially love the Sicilian eggplant appetizer. I would have given 5 * overall but we were seated in back room with some large parties and it was a little noisy

   Despite expectations and the service that is promoted our experience fell short of the mark. We were seated and left alone, having to ask for menus and water after about 20 minutes despite other patrons seeming to be attended to. Our server seemed to be less than engaging, almost dismissive and it felt impatient. Our meals came out in spurts and the runner without saying a word attempted to place each plate in the middle of the table only to be directed by my dinner companions as to whose meal it was and where to place it. We have dined all over the world and this meal, in my hometown, left me disappointed and feeling fleeced

    This was not my first visit. I have been here many times. The food is ALWAYS very good. It is also very expensive. It is a BYOB, which is great.. but the entrées are pricey. Everything is a La carte and adds up by the time you get your check. For the 2 of us with appetizers, meals and desert the tab was over $200. Parking can be challenging if you are going on a holiday or weekend day, as with all downtown Freehold restaurants. The service is top notch and they are very attentive to your needs. Jared our waiter was great as always. The restaurant was extremely loud the night we went and could not hear each other most of our time there. In spite of all these things I have brought up, you will get a fantastic meal. Just be prepared to pay. Not a inexpensive night out.
