   Another outstanding meal! I'd describe Kinship as an expert and highly successful fusion of comfort food and haute cuisine. This visit, I enjoyed an amazingly moist baby pork shoulder served over a bed of barley pearls in a velvety cacio pepe sauce with savory and crispy brussels sprouts leaves--it was a fantastic combination! And for an appetizer, if you like boudin blanc, Kinship's is as light as they come! Save room for the phenomenal desserts.

   Absolutely Amazing! Best meal I think I have ever had....the combinations were just unbelievable pairing of flavor. Highly recommend.

   This was the most disappointing meal of our trip to DC. We had a great cocktail at the bar served by a friendly bartender. Then we were seated in a small room packed with diners. The room was so loud at one point the food runner had to really raise his voice to tell us about our dish, and we still couldn't hear him. The menu is set up in an interesting manner, but the food is frankly, boring. The 20 minute wait between our appetizer and mains in a stark, loud room gave us time to think about where we wished to have dessert. Not here. After the initial greeting and a long wait to take our order, our waiter didn't appear again until we flagged him down to get the check. This is the only meal of our trip that I regret. There are much better options out there.

   Great dining experience and absolutely deserving of a Michelin star. The food, plating, service, and ambiance were absolutely impeccable. I will definitely be returning here.

   I had the scallops, which were fine, but rather timid. They were cooked nicely, with a slightly lemony broth. But overall, I found the dish to be too bland and timid. Perhaps I just ordered poorly. My wife had the duck leg. It was quite good. The meat was tender, with a nice, moist duck fat flavor. The chocolate pot de creme for desert was lovely, with poached pears, ice cream and other flourishes.
