   We have always had excellent food at J. Gilbert’s. Easter Day was no exception—-everything was delicious and the service was great.

   Everything was great but it was really upsetting that you’re serving sirloins and calling them filets. I had the pre fixe and ordered the 5 oz filet medium rare. Came out tough and not tender just like a sirloin. Spending premium money and getting a cheap cut for a steak is unacceptable.

We do try to fix these things as you are dining, as this is valuable information for our trusted vendors. We only offer sirloins on our menu and not on the prefix.    The waiter Dakota was outstanding. Food was pretty damn good. My wife’s only complaint was the filet mignon wasn’t big enough 🤣 & her martini was watered down.. oh & NO blue moon on draft SMDH..

   Great vibe and awesome to see this place going strong for many years. Prime rib was solid and asparagus had good flavor. Filet was good. Blue cheese chips were really good starter. Velvet chocolate cake was really rich and tasty. Wedge was pretty good. Service felt rushed. Very respectful gentlemen, but just felt rushed. Ambience is warm and cozy.

    We went for the steaks (6oz filet & 14 oz ribeye) & were not disappointed. The sides were also delicious. The chocolate mousse cake was a nice birthday surprise!
