   Solid food. Enjoyed the ambiance. The server was very busy, seemed to be slight pauses between courses but all in all , was good.

   Had a great evening at J. Gilbert’s. The food was excellent. Ash was our server was very attentive and provided great service.

   Our server was great! She gave us great recommendations, she didn’t rush us and she was super nice. Food was amazing! Loved the atmosphere!

   I had dinner at J. Gilbert’s Wood-Fired Steaks & Seafood in Kansas City last night, and I want to personally commend our server—her name may have been Sykler—for delivering an exceptional experience. Her professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail reflect the kind of service that defines a truly elevated dining environment. As someone who holds a high standard for hospitality, I left thoroughly impressed. J. Gilbert’s is fortunate to have talent like hers representing the brand.

   Walking into J. Gilbert’s (our first time there) is like walking into a nice restaurant you walked into 30 or more years ago. Dark wood, limited lighting, music that sounds like Nancy Sinatra singing a song by The Police arranged by Doc Severinsen. But they’re pretty full because the food hits the target 100%. A classic wedge salad, perfectly tender filet mignon cooked to the temperature you ordered, grilled asparagus, and an over-the-top loaded potato (you can save hundreds of calories by having them serve it with only butter on the side), and the quintessential chocolate dessert. Good drinks at a handsome bar, and attentive but not stuffy service. What else could you have wanted in 1990? Or today?
