   Inconsistent. Most of the food we had was excellent but my wife ordered an 8 oz fillet mignon and was served a cut of meat that was full of raw connective tissue. It was the tail end of the filet, which should be discarded for other use, not served as a main course. Having someone served an inedible plate was disappointing.

   This has always been an old standby, but disappointing for the first time. Pastrami was inedible and burger, although good flavor and quality meat, was overcooked. To its credit, they took pastrami off the bill. Maybe an off night? We will return again.

   There are surprisingly few dinner/drink options close to the Schnitz so we elected to try Higgins again after not having been there for many years. We sat in the bistro/bar and it was so loud we had trouble hearing each other. The server was prompt and polite, told us the specials and took our wine order and our dinner selections. We were a little surprised to get our entrees and our salads at the same time so we pushed the salads aside to eat the entrees while they were warm. My wife enjoyed her mussels and dredged her bread to catch as much of the liquids as she could. I got the open-faced brisket pastrami sandwich and was disappointed that the meat had so little flavor, nor did the cheese or bread. The sandwich was very one-note and I would never order it again. The salad was somewhat bitter and underdressed. I ate half of it and decided that was enough. The tab, including a bottle of white wine, was around $100. Not a bad experience, but nothing remarkable either. We will look elsewhere the next time we want to dine before attending a show at the Schnitz.

   Food was fantastic and the service was exceptional. Only critique would be that I was seated next to the window and smells from the street at moments disrupted the experience. An air freshener or something aromatic in the window may be helpful.

   Food was delicious and so fun! Great melding of flavors. Service was excellent--very attentive. Made us so comfortable, like dining in someones home.

   The food was good, I have nothing bad to say about the meal. Only the value. The food was good, but not commensurate with the price.

    This is our "go to" place when we have tickets for the Keller. This dinner was awesome! The smoked oyster Risotto was amazing and the Belgian Fish stew was out of this world. The broth was unique made with a Belgian beer. Would love to know how to make this dish. Higgins is so reliable for great quality and service.
