   We were surprised to find that the menu has completely changed since the last time we were there. None of our favorite remain on the menu and it was hard to find something that was appealing. And the prices are quite high now two of us ordered appetizers and even those were over priced. Who ever paid ten dollars for clam chowder? We will not return.

   We were seated at a table overlooking the river at sunset. What a beautiful view. That's where it ended. The waiter mumbled through the specials and knew nothing about with the wine list. He brought our wine but could not open it. I offered but he finally was able to get it done. We received our appetizers and after a while another server finally cleared our plates and it was almost 45 minutes before our entrée arrived. nothing to speak of and not worth the price. After we finished we again had our plates sit in front of us. No additional drinks or food were ordered because no one came to ask us. I waiter finally showed up and when I asked him for the check, he produced it immediately and stepped away. we will not return

   Get there early, get a waterside table on the north patio, order something simple, and you'll be most pleased. Of the places along the Hudson, Half Moon is as close to the water as you can get. Two steps to the west and you're wet. The north patio is quieter and offers a full menu. Stick to main stream food and you'll be fine. Expect the service to be confused. Most of the service staff is inexperienced so patience will be useful. Aside from that, things work reasonably well. And usually you will be able to sit peacefully, enjoying the setting, without being rushed.

   A fabulous view on the river. You can see the NY skyline in the distance. The food was good and the service was good. Prices are high, but you are paying for the location / view.

   We had an amazing time at Half Moon for my birthday celebration. Though we were asked to sit for another 30 minutes before our table was ready, even when we had made a reservation, we enjoyed a drink at the bar and the wait was well worth it! Though I like their main dishes better than the dessert, it was a great place to share a meal.

   Half Moon has great drinks and good food. The outdoor dining is nice, lots of umbrellas.

   My children and I were visiting from out-of town. After viewing the website I was really looking forward to a fantastic meal at a specatacular setting. I got the spectacular setting, but the meal was quite disappointing. I understood that the prices would be high considering the proximty to NYC, however, I left feeling that this restaurant is all about the location and not about the food. It certainly was not worth the cost.

    This was the first time my husband and I have eaten here in the summer. We were seated in a private little niche with a beautiful view of the Hudson and were enjoying the boats going by while we shared an appetizer and drinks. Unfortunately, another couple was seated right behind us and as soon as they sat down they asked to have the shades lowered. Management promptly lowered the shades without asking if we minded. Our view was now covered over with a black shade. How disappointing. When we asked to have it raised just a foot or so, we were told "no". I don't know why the other couple was not moved to the other side of the restaurant since they had not ordered. I left feeling very dissappointed with my experience.
