Before the short, stout, handle-and-spouted teapot of today, there was just a bowl; a simple clay Chinese vessel that was made to hold and infuse tea leaves in hot water, before it was poured through a hole or strainer. It took until the 16th Century for the first actual teapot to appear, in Yixing, China: a town now famed for its teapots.

My friend & I enjoyed very much, the atmosphere was great, love the Deco, the pianist was great, making the experience more lively. The waiter who served us was great, very knowledgeable& you can sense he enjoyed working. The food was tasty. I had lobster as my starter, was delicious. The shared high tea with my friend. Highly recommend.

An amazing afternoon tea experience in a beautiful setting. The food was fantastic. The service was a little slow in the end but as my friend and I were busy talking we did not mind too much. Our main person at the start kept checking if we wanted any more of anything and was super, it was only towards the end of our time we were waiting a little longer than we would have liked for a second pot of tea. However we were having a relaxing afternoon so it was not a huge deal. Would still highly recommend it.

Worth the expense. Had several rounds or sandwiches, tried multiple types of the teas on offer and what we didn't eat was boxed up and given to us to take away.

Don’t come, the food is bad (you can get better sandwich and scone even in M&S for £10.) The service is the worst. The waitress looks refusing to guide us to the table. The waiter looks tired and anxious, I have to call him several times for tea, jam... the waiter tried to rush us to finish earlier.

The food and tea was excellent but it is too bad that the noice level was very high, very high. The service was very good, even though you at times felt invisible due to many tables per server.

My Daughter and I loved every moment that we were there. This was our third time at F& M and we will defiantly be back for me tea. The only thing that I had to double check was the tea cups had makes on them due to probably being used quite a lot
