Best Open Kitchen Restaurants in Highwood

this local, loved South American-inspired restaurant is always a treat, from a girls night out to a special occasion to just stopping by for a small plate and a beer. Chef Tony always has surprises on his menu, mixing local flavors with traditional recipes. I'm always hard pressed to decide whether to eat the barramundi or the salmon, while my meat-eating diner have a wide range of options from skirt steak to tenderloin, wrapped in sauces straight from South America, lots of mole and chimichurris and sauteed onions and right now with grilled asparagus for Spring. Their fried plantains are also excellent. Service is friendly and attentive, but not overbearing. Highly recommend for a new taste experience if you have not had South American fare.

Great service and a great menu. Food is very good and Miramar continues to be one of our North Shore favorites.

I love Froggy’s, we went 2 nights in a row. The food was terrific, the service was very friendly and attentive. The chef came out both nights and asked how everything was. It looks like the inside hasn’t been updated in 30 years, which suits me. I want it to be familiar and comfortable, and it is. There was music playing, but not so loud we couldn’t converse easily. We will be back.

We celebrated my husband's birthday and it was perfect ... excellent quality food, a lively atmosphere, and Jose always makes sure everything is delightful. Thanks for a great time!
