Lovely restaurant with unique dishes. The space is casual and feels like a very comfortable neighborhood spot. All of the staff was friendly and attentive. While we enjoyed everything we ordered, the aguachile was spectacular, and we also loved the agnolotti. The huitlacoche cacio & pepper is a very unique dish that grew on us the more we ate it—very earthy and satisfying. Looking forward to trying brunch soon.

One of the best patios in LA. But my god there were so many dogs. I love dogs but if yours is the kind that barks at every other dog that walks by, you should not bring them to a restaurant. Subsequently, the staff should move the person or ask them to take their food to go so it doesn’t ruin the experience of everyone around them.

Carina is an outstanding manager. We had arrived to our reservation which was running late and were quickly greeted for drinks and thanked for our patience. Carina did an amazing job offering us top tier hospitality and service, providing us a taste of the many delicious bites on the menu from her own favorites. As our first visit, she made new guests feel like old friends. She provided an incredible dinner experience, thank you.

Parking is challenging to find, but when we went at around 5:15pm, we lucked out and found slots on the street. Don't be fooled by all the no-parking signs. We asked some locals who said nobody tickets you if it's a weekend. The place itself is small but cute. Our table area was a little cramped but the staff did everything to make us comfortable. They doted on us like anything! I really appreciated how patient they were with all our questions. The food is exquisite. It all looked like art. This is why I kept taking photos and videos. And it all tasted better than expected. You think you've tasted Peruvian ceviche? No you haven't. You need to try the ceviche that Hummingbird offers...it'll blow your mind. All those layers of flavors and textures make you feel like there's a party in your mouth. They even gave us an extra dish as a thank you for choosing them for our celebration. We were so grateful! I fell in love with the short rib pasta. Those noodles were made in-house and had the perfect level of chewiness. The grilled octopus was tender but crispy in some parts. The crispy ceviche was a revelation - crunchy and soft and sour and umami all at once. The risotto was chock-full of seafood. These folks don't cut corners - they want you full and your tastebuds delighted. We are totally coming back. Even if it was a drive from the Inland Empire, the food and staff were worth it. No other place will make you feel as welcome. This is an excellent addition to Echo Park and should not be gatekept. Do try the $60 per person tasting menu - you will not regret it and you will go home with your pants button undone because you'll feel so full. So much value for money!
