El Scoma’s sigue siendo de propiedad y gestión familiar y fue abierto en 1965 por los hermanos Al y Joe Scoma, que se hicieron cargo de una cafetería con 6 mesas, en la que servían a los pescadores del muelle. Los hermanos Scoma utilizaron las recetas de su madre, y su humilde cafetería acabó convirtiéndose en el restaurante de referencia de San Francisco que es hoy en día.
