Best Historic Restaurants in Hampden

Wonderful brunch spot for our anniversary. Food was great, view was spectacular, service was top notch

The brunch menu prepared by Chef Mario was unique and adventurous, but not out of touch for casual diners. The pastries were phenomenal we chose the Kouign-Amann which were flawless and so delicious as well as the Cheddar, Jalapeño and chive scones. Both were served with butter and jam. She had the Chicken and waffles that came with a harissa-kohlrabi slaw and ginger-lime maple syrup. Spicy,sweet and complex on the palate. I had the Chesapeake Benny, poached eggs, maryland crab on top of a breaded fried green tomato with tarragon hollandaise, grilled asparagus and home fries! Every bite was intensely pleasing. Each dish was plated beautifully and each component worked so well together. We got more pastries to go home with. Our server, Andrea was knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the food she was serving and its presentation. She was kind enough to gift us her favorite scone flavor on the house! We absolutely loved our experience. The food was amazing, and the view. Kayla was an excellent server and helped make my husband’s birthday an excellent experience. We also appreciated the noise level and friendliness of the atmosphere.

The true taste of the huckleberry oysters was astonishing. Our waitress clearly explained the varieties, both from their farm and other oyster farms in the Chesapeake Bay. It was lovely to see the mutual support for the farming of oysters to filter the water, rebuild the aquatic biome, and create delicious food too. Other menu choices were cooked to perfection and delicious. The chunk crab cake sandwich, the oysters Rockefeller, and the apple galette were so well made and served at the right temperature. The setting is idyllic. Very nice interior design. It was just terrific.

Excellent service and the food was fantastic...Will be coming back often!!!!
