This is the second time we have visited Dr. Funk. We love the tiki vibe and decorations. The food is good, but mostly "bar food." The tiki drinks are fabulous! But be sure to have a designated driver as we did as they are stronger than you think. It's a great place to go for a special event as it was our anniversary. Since it was also Easter Sunday, it was very quiet today (which was not the case last time we went!). Recommend for anyone who wants a fun and festive night out in San Jose.

We were late for a reservation for 8 and the restaurant was kind enough to keep their kitchen open for us. My wife enjoyed her Ahi Soba starter and my Hawaian chicken burger was more than I could eat at one sitting. No complaints from anyone at the table. Restaurant food in California has increased in price substantially in the past few years. I fully understand the reasons but I do find it annoying to be given a hand held computer to sign with tipping starting at 20%. Yes, one can select "other" but it is implied that that is a starting point.

My husband and I came for dinner to celebrate my Birthday this evening. We were greeted by a nice young lady and seated promptly. We were then greeted to see what we wanted to drink and eat. The cook at the hibachi was great, everything was cooked perfectly, everyone, including those who weren’t with us all had an abundance of food and our two meals tasted amazing… it was so much food we both brought home part of our meal (and let me tell you we can eat). The atmosphere wasn’t loud, we could all talk amongst those we were with without issues. We’ve now got a new date night place to go to and to bring family gatherings for special occasions. Thank you!
