Food was great but each time we had to ask for service: Can we have menus, please (after 10+ minutes at the table)? Can we order some drinks? It then took 15 minutes for someone to bring us our glasses of wine (no fancy cocktails or anything), someone came by 5 minutes later to say our drinks would be out soon. ?? No one checked on us or our meals as we were eating or did we want more drinks. The only time they came to our table unprompted was to give us the bill! Again, the food was very good, but there's a decent amount of competition for dining dollars in Wilmington now, and Ciro should see what they can to do fix this.

Visited River Rock Kitchen on a surprisingly busy Tuesday night—turns out the convention center nearby was hosting an event. The restaurant is divided into different lounge areas, each with its own dedicated staff. On our side, there was only one person managing the entire lounge. She handled everything from bartending to taking orders, serving food and drinks, and even cleaning up tables. Honestly, she did the work of three people and never missed a beat. Major props to her professionalism and grace under pressure. The food itself was solid—flavorful and served in generous portions. That said, the pricing felt a bit on the higher end for what we got. Still, considering the quality and the atmosphere, it was overall a pleasant experience. Would definitely go back, especially if they added a little more staff support. That one woman was a powerhouse, but no one should have to juggle all of that alone!

A real gem .... spur of the moment reservation as we were in the area proved to be quite enjoyable. The "chicken shepherd pie" and the "crab cake wellington", both small plate specials, were outstanding. And besides, where can you go and have the waitress offer anchovies on the ceasar salad!! Most places don't even know how to spell the word!! Happy we stopped in ... will do so again.
