We opened on Valentine’s Day in 1953 in downtown Clinton, NY, and we’ve been sharing our love of good food and drink as a community gathering place ever since. John and Laura Alteri opened the doors and managed the restaurant until John’s death in 1960. We rebuilt after a fire in 1963, and the tradition was carried on by John’s son and daughter-in-law, Fernando “Feet” and Beverly, until 1998. Today, third-generation owner Fran Alteri manages his family’s warm, home-styled restaurant and seasoned bar, bringing people together with classic food, beer, wine and spirits. Share a table with your friends or family for casual dining and try our famous pizza, pasta, sandwiches, soup and more, or just find a stool at the bar and we can chat over one of our many craft beers.

A TASTE OF TRADITIONThe original Carmella's Cafe, located in New Hartford, New York, opened in 1985. Our goal was to provide our guests with the warmth, charm and quality of a local "Mom & Pop" restaurant with the consistency and controls of a well managed chain. Homemade soups, sauces, pasta, bread served by warm friendly, caring servers was the essence of our business. Our people have to demonstrate an "I care about you" attitude in order to work at Carmella's. We never intended it to be a fancy place... just a place where people of all ages could find good food value and fun in a casual, friendly surrounding! We are now re-dedicating our efforts to those original ideas and are committed to providing our guests with a great experience based on fresh, well prepared food served by people who really care. Iconic is an American restaurant located inside the DoubleTree Hotel Utica at 102 Lafayette St in Utica, NY.The restaurant and bar were completely renovated in 2017. The inspiring 1912 architecture was retained, but the ambiance is urban contemporary. The bar serves high quality artisan cocktails and a variety of wines and beers.Our innovative menu contains local favorites and dishes that strive to become the new local favorites! Our culinary team varies the menu to reflect the seasons and current dining trends. We are open for dinner nightly from 4 - 9 pm daily (extended bar hours til 10 pm). A special dinner menu is used on Sunday evenings. We are open for brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 8 - 11:30 am. Brunch shifts are walk in only.     Camella's has become our go-to destination for family special dinners out. The reservation process is seamless with Open Table, their attention to details like very fresh salad ingredients, food temp, menu selection and SERVICE hasn't disappointed us yet!

    Nate our server was fantastic . Explained the specials and the menu . He was very knowledgeable about the drinks too . We had the Easter Brunch omelette with Boursin cheese , potatoes , toast , mimosas. Everything was very good

    We made a last minute reservation because we had to change venues for a picky eater. We were celebrating my MIL’s birthday. She had the ribeye and loved it. That’s all that really mattered. We also ordered the burger, a pizza, chicken francaise and Tuscan chicken. Everything was delicious. We were early so the place wasn’t too busy and the service was top notch! The waitress surprised us with a dish of ice cream with a sparkler in it for the birthday girl. It was so awesome! Great service!

    Nice, comfortable atmosphere. Food is very good with generous portions. Antipasto for four actually feeds six. We'll worth it. I do think more wait staff could be added during the peak of dining hours. We waited a bit longer than normal to be served. No complaints at all about our server. Just think she had too many tables and not enough staff working to share the tables. This was our second time here. We'll definitely be back.
