General Public is inspired by trying to imagine what an upscale English pub would be if it had the heart of an American brasserie (and was open 11 to 11). It’s also going to signal a little bit of steakhouse, but not too much. And finally, it will look behind itself at the Black Hoof, which you will see reflected in James Santon’s menu here and there. In terms of vibe, the main floor is ‘everything’s gone green’, with lush comfortable banquette seating, warm wood, and barstools designed for long conversations over many cocktails. Food and service were excellent. They overhead it was my mother’s birthday and treated her with a delicious piece of cake complete with a candle. Sweet surprise that was very much appreciated.

First visit and glad I did! Really nice atmosphere in cozy space where you could hear your companion. Really liked the. Guac and chips starter, salad good and my friend enjoyed his fish tacos. Friendly and efficient service. All very enjoyable lunch date. I will return for dinner.

I was disappointed that despite having made a reservation, we were offered a table across from the washroom or a table at the front that was near the door and therefore cold.
